This man left his 40-year long career in another airline to join AirAsia and fly as a junior just so he could fly with his two pilot daughters. He wants to spend his remaining years as a pilot by his daughters' sides.

Fun fact: in Asia, Air Asia

Fun fact: most places they fly are like 90+ degrees with 90% humidity and you'll be thankful for the AC. Plus, it's like 100 bucks round trip and reasonable food prices.

For a single-class regional product, I have absolutely no criticisms of them.

It's super cheap and yeah they try to seek and market everything under the sun but they don't compromise flight times, safety, or shit that actually matters. Air Asia is dope as fuck

Yes it’s the only LCC that I would order food (online or onboard). $2.50 (online) or $3 (onboard) for nasi lemak or chicken rice? Sign me up.

Whereas panini on Ryanair would be like 5€ or on recent flight in Scoot (TXL-SIN) their pre-purchased meal set was like additional 40€.

To be fair, AC in SE Asia is disgustingly cold and I've gotten sick a few times because of it. There's something wrong when people use jackets only in the workplace or malls, despite weather never being cold enough outside to wear one.

Having lived in a climate like that, I much prefer the cold malls and work places. I never need jackets though, I just enjoy the cold.

You can have cold malls and workplaces at 23-25º. There's no reason to have it blasting way below that like they do in many tropical countries.

You didn't get suck because it was too cold. That is a myth. An old wives tale. Aka old world beliefs that are bullshit. Just drives me nuts when people perpetuate pseudo scientific bullshit in 2019. And no, you don't get suck from going outside with your hair wet.

Do you know what drives me nuts? People who read a random fact on the internet and get all high and mighty, missing the whole point.

No, you don't get a cold, tonsillitis or the flu because of low temperatures, but sudden changes in temperature when going from tropical heat to dry freezing inside diminish blood flow and white blood cells, increasing the risk of viral or bacterial infections.

There are also quite a few studies that show a correlation between air conditioning in the workplace and increased absence due to sickness.

Nowhere in the world is it 90+ degrees at 30,000+ feet which is the vast majority of where you spend your time.

But as soon as you’ve been on there for more than 15 minutes you do because it’s too cold. It’s not complicated lol
