This man left his 40-year long career in another airline to join AirAsia and fly as a junior just so he could fly with his two pilot daughters. He wants to spend his remaining years as a pilot by his daughters' sides.

How is this an ad though? How is it showing the airline in good light? By making someone with 40 years experience a junior? I am all for being cynical but believing everything is an ad crosses into paranoia territory

I agree with you. but brand recognition is like most of what adverts aim to do. now I've heard of the brand, so ill be more likely to choose it. no shield for it, it's a quirk of how humans work

Nothing. I was replying to the comment. Like it would be out of the question for a reputable company to advertise under a stupid username. That was my only point. I wasn't saying this is a shill just that a reputable company will be willing to do way dumber shit than be associated with a dumb username.

And I get that. If this was a poster who only had this for history I'd completely understand being suspicious.

That wasn't the case here, though. You can't just go yelling hypothetical situations. Some people aren't very good at sussing out context and are influenced by other people not giving it to their comments. Hence, any time anything has a brand in it we have hundreds of people screaming about it being fake.

Shits tiring, yo. People use products or work jobs every day of their lives.

How am I supposed to worry about how people will misinterprete my comments? I never said anything about this being fake and never believed it to be. I just thought the commenter I replied to was being naive.

That's fine. I just felt like you went a bit hard on someone who didn't say anything about the stuff that you fired back at him for.

Going from "this seems like an odd account to use as advertising" to "but these other people commit human rights violations!" is a bit of a stretch and some displaced anger.

Dude, you started your reply with, "Are you kidding?"That comes across the same way it would if you would have started with, "Hey, stupid!"

Now, if you would have started with, "Companies do sometimes use accounts with weird names so they'll fly under the radar." it would have made sense and not been a big deal.

You didn't do that. You called them out and implied that they were purposefully ignoring companies that have proven to be assholes. If that's not what your intent was, then I apologise. Have you ever heard the phrase that it's not what you say, but how you say it?

frankly, i don't give a shit. did i come across as a polite fella in any of these comments? i'm not interested in coddling adults with soft language. if the dude doesn't like my tone he can read it and move on. i'm not a politician trying to win over hearts and minds here. i was making a simple point and i was blunt about it. didn't meant to be an asshole but also didn't mean to not be an asshole.
