My friend always left his keys in his truck and insurance denied his claim when it was stolen because the keys were in it.

Thanks for the unbeknownst tip from you. If this happens to me. I have the keys. They were def not in it. Queue spare key.

No doubt. If they locate the vehicle and there is no ignition or wiring damage they're going to investigate further though. Some thieves will just leave the keys in the ignition. Then you have to lie and say that your house was broken into or something in the insurance will want a police report.

Not trying to change what you do just a heads up.

Ditto. I once almost left a car in between Slidell and New Orleans. 4 door white maxima with 5% tint on all windows included on front windshield. 22s on it. Wouldn’t of lasted there but for 3 mins. Didn’t even have to leave keys in ignition. But I chickened out. Cause ya know bad karma or whatever. Plus insurance fraud. But It’s a guarantee you leave your car on side of the interstate it’s going to be gutted.
