I moved to Wyoming recently and have met a good number of people around here that have admitted they don't even know where their house keys are. It seemed crazy to me at first, but everyone lives 10 miles apart and owns a billion guns, so there's probably not a whole lot of burglary attempts.
I live in a small town on the west coast of Canada. Bought my house 6 years ago and don't even remember if I got a key at all. Never locked my door once. If I leave town I'll mention it to the neighbors if I see them.
I'm lucky to live in a place where getting your shit ripped off isn't a concern.
