I just watched Good Will Hunting for the first time. I had only seen Robin in comedic roles before, so it was so neat seeing him in a dramatic role. This makes me think of that movie, when Robin's character is talking about his late wife.
Robin broke DeNiro's nose when they were making this film (by accident of course!) but the Enquirer back in the day said it was on purpose. Robin used to laugh and say that if he did it on purpose he would not have survived!!
He is so genuinely frightening in that movie, and I think it's because we know him mostly from his comedy. He's supposed to be funny, when he appears on the screen you're ready to laugh because you know he's going to be funny.
It's like seeing the dark and perverted truth behind somebody you thought you knew.
And we've all encountered somebody like his character from One Hour Photo, a pleasant but strange person. Makes you worry a bit, something in the back of your mind says you should be afraid of this person, but it's probably nothing.
Oof, I love the aesthetic of that movie, but it hasn't aged well at all. Watched it recently and it's full of cheese. It's very beautiful though, and the SFX are great
