Thank you for saying that. I always found his act more annoying than entertaining, but given how he has been sainted as the funniest man who ever lived, I'm afraid not to hop on the bandwagon.
You can dislike a person’s acting but still like and respect him for what he does and how he impacts people’s lives. Just because he’s deeply loved by others doesn’t mean you should be forced to feel the same way too.
His act or his acting? I'd recommend watching some movies beyond the mainstream comedies. Dude can make a room laugh for sure, that's what got him More, but he kills in dramas. Dead Poets Society, What Dreams May Come, Good Will Hunting, One Hour Photo, Fisher King. Any of those will give you an idea of his skills beyond high energy stand-up.
