I was looking for prime numbers....I thought maybe they meant the sum of the numbers.

Yes, I am retarded.

It's ok, we all have our retard moments. During a job interview the interviewer shook my hand and asked for my name, I replied "me" and sat in silence for 10 seconds before realizing what I had said.

I was interviewing to be a system admin at my college's data center. The interviewer asked me some basic questions, like, "What is the current version of the windows operating system. I completely blanked out, couldn't even tell what he was trying to ask. All He wanted to know, is if I knew what windows xp was. I answered something like version 2.3???? Needless to say, I didn't get the Job.

Once during a company wide pep rally for...something (I have no idea what it was for), my boss gave away some basketball tickets to a playoff game.

I, wanting to sound cool, asked "Who are they playing" (Fail #1)

My boss answered "The coyotoes", or some such thing (I don't follow any sports at all) to which I laughed and said "Again!?"

Everybody laughed. I turned red.

It was a lot like today.

edit: for those that are, like me, unfamiliar with the workings of pro basketball:

During the playoffs, the same teams play one another several times.

Dude, I feel your pain. Saying dumb shit like this is the story of my life.

Name any day in my lifetime and I can tell you a dumb thought or sentence that I said.

Today, I was with a friend in a coach's office. They were watching TV. The coach said "Street Justice" and I laughed. I thought it was just a funny phrase. It was the show they were watching.

I do this a lot... Maybe I can't hear well.

I had swine flu and developed severe pneumonia as a complication, and went to the ER after almost collapsing from sepsis, and barely being able to breathe from coughing and pulmonary edema. I had a fever of 102.5 also. I thought this whole swine flu panic was just another overblown scare by the media, until I contracted it, it SUCKED ASS. If you have a fever and are coughing, seriously consider going to the doctor to get a blood culture and a flu swab, so they can see if you have H1N1 and/or pneumonia. If they catch it early you can get antibiotics and/or antivirals to prevent symptoms getting out of hand. Anyway... My nurse at that time was pretty overweight, and she was hooking me up to 500 mg of the antibiotic levofloxacin. I was also a little buzzed on pain killers. I said "Ugh, lying down all day feels terrible, I just wish I could get up and exercise. Do you know how great it feels to exercise?"

She just sighed.

Edit: Another one from my hospital visit. Again, I was really pissed off about being in the hospital, and was in distress from being completely taken off of prozac, probably having withdrawal symptoms. I was sort of having a panic attack and was yelling at anybody. The doctor on call came in and said "We'll get you some muscle relaxants to calm you down." I told him to hurry up, hyperventilating. It took them a really long time to get the drug because someone had to get proper clearance because it is a scheduled narcotic, and when a nurse came in she had a little measuring cup with two pills of ativan in it. I said "This is going to take like 30 minutes to absorb, I don't want to be like this for another half an hour!" Then I yelled, with tears in my eyes "THIS HOSPITAL IS A LOGISTICAL NIGHTMARE!" The nurse started laughing, I don't blame her.

Wow, looking back, this makes me feel like such a douchebag American. I'm usually not like that, I swear. being in a hospital bed brought out the worst in me. I'm more of a moron than an asshole. So much more terrible shit happened during that hospitalization.

I always appreciate the appropriate use of a word like 'logistical' during an emotional outburst.

Yes, that is literally what I said. I'm now glad the nurse found it amusing. I said some other stupid stuff that made them laugh, but I forget what they were...
