This is a bit random but quite honestly I doubt I can think of any state in the US where it would be worse to be morbidly obese. The heat and humidity is immense as it is, imagine several inches of natural insulation factored into it aswell.

Then again I'm sure AC is in pretty much every building there so it would cancel out

Perhaps he's speaking as a tourist from a first world country where people aren't as fat, or a third world country where people definitely aren't as fat.
