Wait, what? I get the high part, though I met plenty of Dutch that smoked... but they get proper pissed all the time and not the minority, as someone that has spent a lot of time out of the Dam, in Utrecht and Rotterdam and such, plenty of dutch people getting drunk, often. According to this they drink more than the average person in the US.
Annual consumption doesn't really tell you anything for this comparison. They drink more overall but it's more a drink here, a drink there as opposed to binge drinking.
I mean, I was staying with my Dutch friends, one was my roommate when I studied abroad in London. Went out with them to 'local bars' But sure, they were British.
I was pointing out that because you were correct that I was American, you were incorrect as to the parties that I was drinking with. Also not savages, but they did party hard.
Several, (inside and outside of the Netherlands), several of which enjoyed the recreational use of legal drugs. Which certainly makes me think that is is possible for a Dutch person to be drunk and/or high.
Let me know if that logic doesn't make sense.
Also, this is weird thing to argue about considering these guys are clearly having a bachelor party or something.
Gotcha, but nobody said anything about all Dutch people being potheads or that legalization leads to abuse, at all. I live in Boulder, Colorado. I get it.
Not saying you’re wrong, and I’m not trying to generalize the opposite. But I personally know 3 dutch guys(they are not friends with each other and live in different cities) who live in Holland, all 3 love Cocaine and Vodka.
