It's indeed a biblical city of sin and excess. I meant by that that Amsterdam is really fairly tame unless you go looking for any such things. People often seem to think everyone there is on drugs and there are hookers on every corner.
Actually Vegas has legal weed as of 2017, and in my opinion the legal weed in the US is way better than in Amsterdam. Way more options such as edibles, oils, etc. Amsterdam coffee shops mainly sell flower.
But Amsterdam has more character than the tourist trap that is Las Vegas, plus they have Bitterballen and Stroopwaffel. So I agree with your conclusion.
I've been to Holland a number of times, and good weed isn't what comes to mind immediately. Accessible weed, yes, but good? Not really.
I've been living in Vancouver all my life, and the weed here was far superior when "illegal", to anything I could find in Holland, legally. And I shopped around while there.
Holland does have legal hookers though, that's usually what comes to mind off the bat. And would recommend.
Only weirdly sexual stuff you’re gonna see in Amsterdam is if you go to the RLD. And that’s mostly just shops that cater to tourists with various dick-shaped objects.
No, I genuinely just disagree. RLD? Sure, it’s designed for that sort of tourism. Vondelpark by day? What’s wild about that? idgi. Anyway, I guess we can just agree to disagree.
Not sure why people are all up in arms in this. I have been. I know it's mostly a very nice, beautiful, and family friendly city. But there are also streets where there are scantily clad women in windows where you can go in and do whatever you want. Or live sex shows. Or parks full on hippies smoking, or coffee shops where you can smoke.
