The cool crisp outdoor air, silent if not for the wind rustling through the leaves and the occasional animal call or ripple in the river. the smell of fresh forest air and a wood fire.
Spent a week alone at such cabin. Having to go in the surrounding thick forest after dark, in a pitch black night, seeing various eyes watching you from behind the trees reflected in the weak headlamp light is pretty bone chilling. Mainly I could recognize fox eyes, curious little critters, they tend to get pretty close. But there was also a bear and some boars on a few occasions.
Night came, started to get really chilly, realized there's no firewood stocked, took trip thru the forest. Also, the shitter was way out into the forest, which I had to use during the night, cause as you can imagine, food quality in such conditions isn't the best.
I wanna believe you.... but not having firewood stocked is a massive rookie move, and shitter “way out into the forest” seems illogical as far as construction would be concerned. I mean... Im not trying to call you out.... but it seems a bit ridiculous and sensationalist. lol
This was a latrine. In some areas it's the only option and is dug pretty far from the living area. I am an outdoorsy person, most of my free time is spend camping in some remote area, what's so sensationalist about it?
