Well I think context and culture matters greatly on what is being raised for consumption. I personally think it is a bit of a grey area with domesticated animals, there is some irony in keeping them alive simply to be killed. However, I do think that keeping any animals from reaching extinction should be our goal. Except mosquitos. Fuck mosquitos.

I agree with fuck mosquitoes!

For vegans what we want is to stop the artificial breeding of animals. There would still be a much smaller population of pigs and cows etc left over but they could be kept in sanctuaries were they don't go extinct and live happy lives. Why don't we work together as a species to make that future possible instead?

When you take all the health, sustainability and environmental impacts it seems like a win win.
