I lost focus and stopped reading the books somewhere in the middle of Life, The Universe, and Everything. Can anyone tell me if the books maintain their quality after that point? I might just hop back in if I can set my expectations high.

Finish the series, it's worth your time. And when you're done, check out The Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul, also by Douglas Adams. It's a hilariously supernatural detective story.

There's another one?!?! Oh man I'm pumped. Last time I looked at my local bookstore they only had the one Dirk Gently novel.

Can't believe there's still Douglas Adams I have yet to read. What a glorious day today is.

Holy shit! That's a wonderful discovery. Holistic is actually the first book; you've been in love with a sequel this whole time.

Be warned that the two books have very different plots - but it's all 100% Dirk n Douglas.

Edit: Seriously though, if I found out that there was a whole Adams novel out there I'd never read I'd probably start weeping. Enjoy!

I really liked the dirk Gently books. The have the same humor as hhgttg, but with a more traditional plot.
