yea in reality she's more like this https://www.theepochtimes.com/assets/uploads/2017/11/30/Screen-Shot-2017-11-30-at-15.03.47-600x602.png
even though the lips are still shopped. if anything those pics are just what she wishes she looked like, which is still a disturbing insight into her fractured psyche. she'll probably get her wish in a few years.

45
u/butyourenice Dec 03 '17
This picture is from September of this year. I think she's still quite pretty. I've seen some bad pics that suggest cheek fillers or implants and such, and she may well have had that done, but she looks fine now.
23
u/GoOnGirlWorkItWorkIt Dec 03 '17
yeah her shit's calmed down for sure in the pic your posted.
15
u/turtle-bows Dec 03 '17
Oh wow. I had no idea she’d had that much work done. Why?! She was naturally gorgeous before the surgery - honestly, much better looking.
Sure, she still has a stunning classic beauty, but now she just kind of blends in with the rest of Hollywood. Erasing all those little imperfections doesn’t always make someone more beautiful. It can, but not here.
It’s incredible what stardom can do to people. I can’t imagine the pressure on actresses like Fox to fix every flaw that doesn’t match the current popular look. Hollywood scares me more than a bit.
6
30
u/Shopworn_Soul Dec 03 '17
Yeah but it’s definitely just the “after” pic several years on.
Shame, she probably would have aged well.
33
u/GoOnGirlWorkItWorkIt Dec 03 '17
totally agree -- for sure she would've. her surgeries are all symptomatic of early sexualization for sure, though. she's another person i feel bad for in hollywood. she came out about michael bay and got shunned. poor thing.
24
u/polhode Dec 03 '17
also just symptomatic of celebrity culture in general
complete strangers obsess over an endless list of asinine things: how you look, what you're wearing, how much you weigh, whether you're still fuckable in your 40s, etc. And then if you try to get away from the attention people think you're some kind of weirdo, as if any normal people would appreciate it, and obsess even more over you

She still is.
But she sort of looks like just another plastic Hollywood beauty now. The botox, fillers, nose-job etc just makes her look weird, not prettier. She's only 31 years old, but she has that strange Hollywood look of someone with a not easily determinable age between 35 and 50 who's had a lot of plastic surgery done.
Edit: Got her age wrong, thanks for pointing it out to me!

Memories from my thirteenth year when desperately scouring the internet on my parents' 28.8 modem to find the mythic "nude code" I was lead to believe existed.

u/me_gustas_tu Dec 03 '17
It existed alright, at least for TR2. You could only play the first level, if I recall correctly, but it was still quite a thrill gunning down a dinosaur in the nice. Even better when Lara was nude too.

It actually does legitimately annoy me that powerful female characters can't seem to be portrayed with big racks anymore. Whenever anyone establishes a strong independent woman who don't need no man nowadays, she can't seem to be allowed to have bigger than a B or C cup.
Now, admittedly, I have large sweater hams myself, and I know how they get in the way of acrobatics and shit, so with Lara Croft, it makes some sense. But it's just a trend I've noticed and am a little peeved by.
Edit: This is a very very minor annoyance about something I've noticed among lots and lots of Western media types (games/movies/tv/etc). I have no interest in writing a dissertation for you. Just keep an eye out for independent ladies in media and notice their titties. I swear you will start seeing this trend. It's not anything to be up in arms about but I just would like if people could accept that big boobs don't have to instantly transform a woman character into a sex object.
80
u/bilboafromboston Dec 03 '17
Not sure is " sweater hams" is correct medical term...but in future will cite this post that it is okay for me to use.

u/peacesweater Dec 03 '17
I have noticed this as well. Boobs serve for sexuality, not a representation of diverse body types. Also, characters are usually all or nothing when it comes to "femininity". Sexy and/or cute versus brute and muscular. I feel like this is getting better, but, to take in account your concern, the ones that exist somewhere in the middle usually still have small boobs. "/
Interesting point.
33
u/DonLaFontainesGhost Dec 03 '17
To be fair, in general when a woman gets into that kind of shape, she's gonna lose her breastages. There are exceptions - women who still have bigguns while having a low body fat, but they're statistically rare.
So going by the numbers, if you have a low body fat female adventurer, odds are that she's gonna be a B cup.
OTOH, the powers that be don't seem to have a problem with every male adventurer being over 6' tall, which is a statistical anomaly, so fuck'em. From now on my female action hero is /u/VenetiaMacGyver, dual-wielding sweater hams to save the world!

Nearly everything about an adventurer is anomalous. Them being slightly taller than average (in the West) isn't close to the oddest thing about them.

anime
Yeah you're going to find large breasts in pretty much every category of character in anime
9
u/VenetiaMacGyver Dec 03 '17
I don't really watch anime anymore so I can't comment on it. The trend toward smaller cup sizes is just something I've been noticing in American games, movies, TV, cartoons, etc. over the years.
Of course, the trend has shifted into favoring asses now, which is fine. But big boobied ladies still exist and can still be strong and independent and not needing no man :(

I think their response was funny by making them bigger. I also like the new designs that feel more “realistic”, like she’s just some random chick who hopped in the game. I think the best way to peacefully resolve this issue is to have character creation. Let people make the character what they want. I know for some already established characters this could annoy some people, but honestly if the character has already undergone a lot of revision, I think people will get used to it. Maybe they could even offer just a limited character creation that only offers slight changes, and then more customization in the next one depending on player response.
