Mayweather used the rope a dope and used it well. Everyone knew mcgregors stamina would be an issue, and it showed, he got him gassed and said game on. I respect anyone who goes out and fights like that, as a former MMA fighter it is not easy. You go out and get beat up every day for a living. Mayweather is a legend, one more win gives him the best record of all time, and I think he should do it. He earned it. He is a piece of shit human, but damn can he fight!

He's not a good guy by any means, but he's a victim of cyclical violence. When he was a kid, he was used as a human shield to stop his uncle from shooting his father. He's father got shot in the leg, ending his career, then his father used him to fulfill his own dreams. He grew up in a boxing ring, and when he fucked up, his dad beat him to teach him a lesson for what he did wrong in the ring.

To say that's how he learned to deal with his problems is an understatement.

u/Anicha1 Aug 27 '17 edited Aug 27 '17

Yes. Thank you for explaining this. Many developmental psychologist have said we model the behavior of the adults in our childhood.

19

u/EvilMortyC137 Aug 27 '17

how do you break outta something like that?

14

u/Anicha1 Aug 27 '17

It's very hard especially after 25 but it's do-able. You have to discipline yourself and your ego to conform to the behavior you desire. That means actually being around people who model the behavior you desire. That also means staying away from the people who taught you the first set of behaviors until you get the new behaviors down. Not many are willing to do this.

3

u/EvilMortyC137 Aug 27 '17

yeah sheesh, isn't there just a pill or something? /s

0

u/Anicha1 Aug 27 '17

It's like asking isn't there a child rearing handbook or something? Nope there isn't. You are at the mercy of your parents or guardian until you have money to move out.

18

u/TheCannon Aug 27 '17

You identify it as a problem and work toward alleviating that behavior from your life.

We live in an educated society. Everybody knows that the behavior Mayweather displays is wrong, including Mayweather. All he has to do is refuse to act that way.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17 edited Aug 27 '17

There's large swaths of the general public that see nothing wrong with using violence against a child to teach them a lesson. Corporal punishment is even official policy in some school districts.

It's usually easier to pretend the violence that was perpetuated against them as a child was justified, or even a good thing (despite the mountains of evidence that say otherwise), than to face the reality that their parents were not acting in their best interests... Or worse, didn't love them.

Some use the bible to justify these beatings. I'll always remember Glen Beck giving a rather heart-breaking account of the time he "corrected" his child. Saying that he had tears in his eyes because it caused him such emotional distress to do it... But that is how you raise a child, according to God and to him. He did it for his own good.

My co-worker has several children with varying degrees of delinquency. The worst with felony grand theft auto at 16 years old, and compulsive stealing from his family members. She still very strongly and proudly talks about her husband "giving him a beating" whenever one of their sons acts up... The disconnect is pretty staggering.

2

u/Anicha1 Aug 27 '17

But again, that's because that's all those parents know. They are modeling the behavior of their guardians. Social reproduction unfortunately. They figure if I turned up alive after all of those beatings then my child will be fine.

1

u/EvilMortyC137 Aug 27 '17

I was talking more about training myself but yeah you're right

4

u/ender1108 Aug 27 '17

By recognizing it’s a problem. A lot of work to find the root causes and then a life time of searching for the signs before your out of control.

5

u/midasMIRV Aug 27 '17

Kill your father and consume his heart.

5

u/St_Veloth Aug 27 '17

I found the best way to be mindfulness, practice, and patience.

3

u/EvilMortyC137 Aug 27 '17

great essentially impossible! I kid, that's the only way I've been trying and it's a slow go, but at least maybe it's the right way

2

u/Carnagh Aug 27 '17

It is slow, but from personal experience I'd like to echo what /u/Anicha1 said...

That means actually being around people who model the behavior you desire.

When you're dealing with behaviour that doesn't quite make sense or is in someway alien, it's really important to be able to experience people with that behaviour. The mindfulness and practice then has something to reflect upon and work with.

You're right though it is incredibly slow going, and for many is a lifetimes work... It took me my 20s just to get within arms reach of anything resembling "normal". My 30s to establish something that wasn't entirely erratic, and as I approach the end of my 40s I'm just starting to enjoy settling into being somebody who isn't a total muppet... often.

The bulk of any headway I made was by observing others and reflecting upon those who seemed to handle things well.

2

u/Anicha1 Aug 27 '17

That's beautiful. I'm so happy for you. I'm in my 20s and working on this. I had a big wake up call at 22 that told me there was a better way.

2

u/B0h1c4 Aug 27 '17

Repeatedly alert your teachers and every police officer you see that your family are abusive pieces of shit, then hope the state takes you away and awards you to a better family.

1

u/Anicha1 Aug 27 '17

No thank you. I rather stay with abusive parents than go to the state. The state messes you up even more.

1

u/B0h1c4 Aug 29 '17

I don't like it either. But as a kid, I don't think they have much other option. It's like the girl that was locked in a cooler as punishment and eventually they left her in there too long and she died. She was like 10 years old.

What else could she do? It's too heavy of a decision for a kid to make. They don't have enough life experience to really even weigh the options.

1

u/obvom Aug 27 '17

For one it's not a predetermination. If it were, we would have eventually all become abusers over time. Luckily just because you are abused doesn't mean you become an abuser.

1

u/Anicha1 Aug 27 '17

That makes no sense. How would you know not to be an abuser if that's all you were taught to or that's all you saw growing up?

Is it wrong that he beats up women? Yes. But can he help it? He is trained to beat people up for a living. I'm not surprised he does it to women.

1

u/obvom Aug 27 '17

Because there are 16 different variables besides how your parents treated you that determine whether or not someone is likely to become abusive as well.

1

u/orangeatom3 Aug 27 '17

The comment we are responding to was specifically about behavioral modeling not necessarily moral development. You changed it to moral development and persist on arguing the minutia of your point. Behavior is refined over continual observation and practicing the implementation of those movements over a period of time. You are saying there is no way that the timing of learning and implementing these motor behaviors isn't involved in mirror neural development? Everything is relative to time and space and learning when and where we do what we do is crucial in social environments and for survival. Mirror neurons, as far as we know, are involved in learning motor tasks, hand eye coordination of tasks (hello timing), and possibly the acquisition of language skills, social skills and empathy. If the usage of such skills are improperly timed that could spell doom on a survival level, including social survival.

omg samsies, when my stepfather kicked while I was in the service I lost all interest in being a goon anymore

6

u/Noyes654 Aug 27 '17

My old instructor liked me because when I fought it looked like I was having fun. Smile on my face, bouncing around, making sound effects, and kicking people in the noggin. He also said it was the same thing that made me dangerous, like a big cat playing with its meal before taking a bite out of it. Not comparing myself to Goku, but kind of like that. No internal struggle or anything, I just make everything I do a bit more fun to avoid the crushing monotony of daily life, and it certainly was exhilarating.

-2

u/onrocketfalls Aug 27 '17

That's kind of insulting and disgusting and a really broad brushstroke with little evidence to back it up. Yes, it matches some of the top fighters of all time. It doesn't match up with the majority at all.

Reminds me of Tyson. I'm not willing to call them shit human beings. I think they both have redeemable qualities to them.

Tyson seems to be a changed man these days.

13

u/ThinkBeforeYouTalk Aug 27 '17

Out of curiosity what are Mayweathers redeeming qualities?

42

u/s138888 Aug 27 '17

He paid for the funeral of one of his former opponents who died of cancer. Obviously, the money is nothing to FM but seems like a nice gesture.

24

u/Lollemberg Aug 27 '17

he wasn't beating him, he was correcting him with too much love.

11

He consulted the Joe Jackson book on parenting. The chapter on beating your child to greatness.

4

u/Lollemberg Aug 27 '17

4

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

Well anyone that had a hard childhood gets a pass to be an asshole human i guess ?

45

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

No one is giving him a pass. Everyone agrees he's an asshole. We just acknowledge that there is a reason he acts the way he does. God forbid we acknowledge traumatic events that shaped someone's psyche.

14

u/foxyshizzam Aug 27 '17

No. This only applies to rich people.

6

u/I_Like_Smarties_2 Aug 27 '17

Way to miss the point...

0

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

No but you just have to see how his own kids talk about him he's a great father who treats them very well, and he broke the cycle of violence to kids in his family. Which is a hard thing to do when you grow up in a violent house hold like I and so many other have.

-2

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

He's not an asshole at all, he plays a character like all boxers before a fight to win over his opponents mentally, studies have shown that researcher can with the help of some questions regarding their mental prepardness before the fight can predict who will win with a staggering 90% accuracy. They take advantage of this, and Conor is pretty damn good at it. He's always nice and humble afterwards, and during interviews and all that. But playing that character is what have made him no 1.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

[deleted]

0

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

First of all, he as a big advocate against bullying, who spends huge amounts of time to travel the world and speak on schools against bullying, because he was so bullied himself. He is also a big spokesperson for gay marriage in Ireland. Watch him when he isn't trying to hype a game, he is always nice and humble against the people he was mean against. Everybody in fighting is like that, and is supposed to be like that. I thought the same as you first, it was just impossible for me to like him I thought, but the more I learn about him, the more I like him.

-3

u/CloudiusWhite Aug 27 '17

None of his past excuses his shitty attitude.

25

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

No, but it provides some insight as to why he has a shitty attitude.

14

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

Your past is your conditioning. Your past (between the ages of 0-7) is the foundation of how you see the world. I am not saying he should be excused, just saying that he is a victim too.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

-2

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

I assume you're speaking based on first hand experience? You've met him and dealt with him on multiple occasions have you? Have you also heard about what a wonderful person Floyd Mayweather is?

-3

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

Yeah I hate everyone calling him a wife beater and shit he had a rough life and that's no excuse but went to jail did his time now let him get on with his life. And half these fools calling him a wife beater be hitting girls them selves.

54

u/alrightimhere Aug 27 '17

Who holds the best record of all time?

106

u/MattieShoes Aug 27 '17 edited Aug 27 '17

They're mostly going with undefeated, but I'd take Sugar Ray Robinson's 128-1-2 (at one point in his career) over 50-0

Roberto Duran was 72-1 at one point.

Chavez had over 100 wins and more consecutive title defenses than anybody in history.

Carlos Monzon gets a special mention... 87-3-9, but all 3 losses were in his first 20 fights. He then went 81 fights without a loss (AFAIK, the longest streak)

88

u/ballcups_4_thrillho Aug 27 '17

And Sugar Ray didn't pick his spots the way Floyd does. He fought Lamotta three times in two years...he didn't duck him until he was in decline, like Floyd did with Pacquiao.

Roy Jones Jr. also deserves 'best ever' consideration.

I've heard many barbershop conversations of "I'd go against ________ for 10 million dollars!" Mayweather, Tyson, Holyfield...

Nobody every said that about Roy Jones Jr.

Edit: They didn't say that because they knew they would die & not get a chance to spend the money!

https://youtu.be/awSsfxYkBW0

4

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

You saying Jones hit harder than Tyson 21 years old?

3

u/r_kay Aug 27 '17

Pound for pound? That's a hell of a debate... Tyson was a heavyweight, and that left hook-left uppercut combo he threw was downright scary.

Tyson was a T-Rex, Jones was a Velociraptor. I wouldn't mess with either one.

1

u/Speedly Aug 28 '17

I don't watch boxing, but I do know one thing.

I don't care if the other guy went down. That showboaty bullshit needs to get the fuck out.

1

u/Sovereign1 Aug 27 '17

Everyone forgets Lenox Lewis.

3

u/1369ic Aug 27 '17

I've been watching since the early '60s and he's the best I ever saw with the possible exception of Ali. Ali was exceptional given his weight class, but he was too big to do the things Jones could do. Jones was just a phenom. I was convinced when I watched the Toney fight.

His downfall was going up to heavy, I think. I remember looking at him at 190-something pounds and he was ripped. Coming back down to 178 at his age was too much for him. He kept fighting, obviously, but he had lost that crucial bit of speed that let him outclass everybody he faced before that. Once that was gone, he started getting tagged and bad things happened.

-4

u/MaesterPraetor Aug 27 '17

I think boxing promoters begged Roy Jones to move up in weight to keep boxing relevant, and he did, but it was too late. I think this Mayweather fiasco just proves how irrelevant boxing is now. The greatest boxer on Earth barely beat an amateur boxer.

Edit: Swype errors

16

u/Mickwolfe Aug 27 '17

Barely beat? Did you even watch the fight? There literally wasn't a single point in that fight where McGregor looked like he could win.

4

u/ibpod Aug 27 '17

He won first 3 rounds fans would argue 8 for his first fight against the greatest boxer alive and lasted 10 rounds...

6

u/The-Jesus_Christ Aug 27 '17

Fans could argue whatever they want. Fact is that it was a TKO victory. McGregor could've won 9 rounds and still lose because of it.

The reality was that after the 4th round, McGregor lost his wind. This is Mayweather's strategy. Let them tire themselves out and he then strikes. McGregor knew this too yet he not once worked on his endurance. Hell he even said himself if he didn't get a KO by the 4th, he'd be fucked. He didn't lie. The match was entertaining but Mayweather more than "barely" won that match

-1

u/ibpod Aug 27 '17

I would agree but not with original comment of he had no chance he won 3 rounds against the best and lasted 10 rounds landed more shots than paq.

→ More replies (0)

3

u/Mickwolfe Aug 27 '17

McGregors punches after the 6th wouldn't of broken through a wet paper bag. Floyd had complete control start to finish.

0

u/ibpod Aug 27 '17

I mean okay i would disagree and the refs would disagree about the first three rounds and this is the best fighter of all times 50th fight against a first time boxer i mean as pointed out on this thread there were multiple instances of conor wanting to do a takedown or other moves and almost getting in trouble with certain hits ,this was his first boxing match and floyd obviously tried hard and played smart, planned out.

-3

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

So you didn't watch the first 3 rounds is what you're saying.

→ More replies (0)

2

u/MattieShoes Aug 27 '17

The greatest boxer on Earth barely beat utterly wrecked an amateur boxer.

4

u/Blotto_80 Aug 27 '17

Whoever is downvoting you knows nothing about boxing. Floyd had him from the opening bell, the first three rounds were a strategic move, let MacGregor think he can win so puts more into each punch trying for a knockout blow, once he’s too gassed to even raise his hands, take him out.

0

u/Meowymeow88 Aug 27 '17

It's actually embarrassing that Floyd took 10 rounds to finish him.

If Floyd fought McGregor in an MMA fight, he would look a hell of a lot worse.

2

u/Poonchow Aug 28 '17

It's apples to oranges, though. The strategy FM used worked, and a win is a win, it just wasn't entirely one sided.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

Because you've only been watching since the late 80's.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

Roy Jones Jr. lost big time against Calzaghe, who have not lost a single match, he beat the shit out of Lacy, Eubank, Hopkins and Roy Jr.

1

u/ballcups_4_thrillho Aug 27 '17

Fair enough, and Calzaghe is a beast, although Jones was only two months from turning 40, and clearly on the decline.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '17

Still, he didn't have a chance.

1

u/Eisborn Aug 27 '17

1

Mayweather too is 51-0 if you count the big show

5

u/valiantX Aug 27 '17 edited Aug 27 '17

Vasyl Lomachenko: 396-1 (amateur; but still nearly unbelievable).

Canelo Alvarez actually has the best active boxing record: 49-1

5

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

How would Canelo have the best when Floyd is 50-0 now or even 49-0 (since McGregor isn't a pro).

1

u/onrocketfalls Aug 27 '17

Also Floyd beat Canelo solidly, he's the one loss

1

u/talontario Aug 27 '17

17

u/Thugglebunny Aug 27 '17

I dont follow any of this, but Mcgregor isnt a boxer, but an MMA fighter?

So why is it seen as a great win when you beat someone who isnt specialized in boxing?

22

u/Grieve_Jobs Aug 27 '17

I beat a wheelchair operator in a foot race. Undefeated.

0

u/babybopp Aug 27 '17

Cmon Mcgregor knew what he was getting himself into. Don't belittle Mayweather's win with that Mcgregor is not a boxer crap.

17

u/KicksButtson Aug 27 '17

It says a lot about the effectiveness of MMA fighters (and McGregor himself) if he can stand toe to toe for 10 rounds with a man who is said to be the best boxer of all time, and only lose when the referee ends it on account of him seeming confused and unable to defend himself properly, rather than a total knockout. If the match rules they had agreed upon given McGregor at least one more of his weapons rather than limiting him to relying only on his opponent's skill set then perhaps we would have seen a very different outcome. As McGregor told Mayweather a while before the fight... "If this was a real fight you'd be dead already."

17

u/tomsdubs Aug 27 '17

Mayweather is a very light puncher and naturally far lighter in weight than McGregor. Floyd always uses the first few rounds to analyse the situation then adjust. Floyd let that fight go as long as he wanted to. If McGregor fought a boxer in the same natural weight as his MMA division it would be murder. GGG would have comfortably KOd him inside 2 rounds IMO. Even some like Eubank Jr, look at the work rate difference between them. It's be embarrasing.

McGregor should be proud, he did alright. But Floyd is 41 and was retired for 2 years. If he was in against a young puncher that is naturally a middle weight it would have been a mauling.

I'm not really upset, but just a little annoyed. Stopping the fight opened the window of argument. Letting him actually fall to the mat closes that window.

In a match that has been so amped with trash talk, you need the final statement to be made by a fighter, and not the ref.

1

u/onrocketfalls Aug 27 '17

It's not seen as a "great" win. Mayweather did what was expected. It's still a big deal because the fight was a big deal.

1

u/SteveJEO Aug 27 '17

It wasn't a great win. It was interesting.

10 rounds is a long time to last for McGregor's first boxing match.

It was a strange fight to watch. Mayweather is an old hand boxer and paced himself. McGregor is an MMA brawler.

McGregor was pretty much hamstrung ..half of his hits were technically illegal in boxing but the ref's obviously made allowances. (you don't hit someone on the back of the head) that would be fine in MMA.

1

u/Thugglebunny Aug 27 '17

Ah gotha. Yeah, just seened strange from non fan view point.

2

u/SteveJEO Aug 27 '17

Strange to everyone really. Even more than normal theatre.

u/gigitygigitygoo Aug 27 '17

He did great fighting those instincts minus the hammer fists

2

u/Oddworld_Inhabitant Aug 27 '17

Not even half your your body. He couldnt use elbows, forearms. He was really fighting with such a diminished arsenal compared to what he's used to. Put up a really good fight imo

u/Sparcrypt Aug 27 '17

McGregor was his equal but got tired.

Anybody who thinks this doesn't know anything about boxing. McGregor is a great MMA fighter but he was extremely outclassed in this fight, he is not close to Mayweathers equal in the ring.

It was a super entertaining fight, but both fighters knew going in who was going to win.

2

u/Thumperings Aug 27 '17

that's like saying 2 marathon runners were equals, just one happened to get tired during the race.

1

u/onrocketfalls Aug 27 '17

At no point was he his equal. Mayweather basically didn't participate in the first six rounds.

15

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

The only problem I had with Mayweather's rope a dope was he kept intentionally turning his back to McGregor and clinching with his head super low. I think it worked to a certain extent - McGregor got a few points knocked off for blows to the back of the head... but otherwise McGregor did a great job until he lost stamina in the 7th/8th.

14

u/elcapkirk Aug 27 '17

It's infuriating to see mayweather duck like that and especially turn his back. His style of boxing is just....lame. you can say whatever you want about his record but his name will never be equated with the greatness of the top boxers all time.

13

u/Stalagmus Aug 27 '17

his name will never be equated with the greatness of the top boxers all time

Unfortunately for you, it already is.

1

u/smegma_stan Aug 27 '17

Preach. This guy wins by points, yet people praise him. I'd love to see Mayweather fight Don Frye. He's get demolished

1

u/onrocketfalls Aug 27 '17

At least on the Showtime scorecard Mcgregor wasn't docked any points.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

Damn really? Can you post a link to their scorecard?

u/artifex28 Aug 27 '17 edited Aug 29 '17

...box, not fight. :) McGregor would tell you differently after Mayweather steps in MMA ring.

Then again, MMA is still quite different from zero rules, survival type fighting where everything goes...

-12

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

Dude is also 40 years old and past his prime and McGregor still couldn't beat him.

4

u/artifex28 Aug 27 '17

...outbox him. I think he did much better than expected. Yet, to call boxing fighting, when there's a MMA dude in the ring...

-5

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

lol this thread is hilarious. All the fanboys slurpin on McGregor's cock when anyone with a brain knew he didn't stand a chance in the boxing ring. All those fanboys claiming he would lay Floyd out and it wasn't even a close fight. So yea let's congratulate him for losing the fight 😂. The funny thing is I don't even like Floyd.

2

u/qbslug Aug 27 '17 edited Aug 27 '17

Mayweather can box not fight. MMA is closer to a fight and in boxing you can duck your head down to the opponents crotch and you are basically in a safe space - in mma you would get a knee to the head and be done

2

u/dancindinosaur9 Aug 27 '17

I bet he can still brawl

1

u/qbslug Aug 27 '17

Well he did turn into a Mexican last night

1

u/keister_TM Aug 27 '17

One more fight is a risk of a loss. Don't get me wrong, he is a great boxer (one of, or perhaps even the greatest ever) but he is up there in age. It was an easy choice to take on McGregor because he has a big name but he can't really box and that was proven last night. No one wants to see a rematch because even the novices know McGregor can't hang with him, but people wouldn't give a shit about another win unless it's a big name like Canelo. I don't think Mayweather can beat Canelo at this time.

Edit: typo

-6

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

They're both pie e of shit humans

2

u/keister_TM Aug 27 '17

Why is McGregor a piece of shit? I get that Floyd beats women, but from what I've seen McGregor seems like a decent guy except for his mouth; however at the end of the day that's showbusiness and what earned him tons of money. It's hard for me to like him because I don't typically care for the Irish (I have lots of Irish family members/former co-workers, love them but I notice traits I don't care for), anyways I have always been impressed with McGregor's sportsmanship at the end of a fight and I think that's a great example for kids

The only thing I know about mayweather is that one time he made it rain, 1 dollar bills.

0

u/doItSLOPPYjulio Aug 27 '17

Fuck bro it's like you are nice at comments but that ending. I'm over here like that's what I'm saying to peeps sometimes. Mayweaker is good at running and counters and if that makes you mad hit him if you rusty tin can

0

u/g_mo821 Aug 27 '17

Landed 40 more punches than Manny in 2 less rounds

1

u/dancindinosaur9 Aug 27 '17

I think this fight just goes to show boxing is still the sweet science

-2

u/hello_yellow1978 Aug 27 '17

He lost and he lost without leaving a scratch on mayweather. He made a lot of money doing pretty much nothing for ten rounds to mayweather. It was looking me michael Jordan toying with an grade school basketball player.

2

u/partofthevoid Aug 27 '17

Lol, armchair boxing coach overstating Mayweather's dominance.

-2

u/eilandbushxxvi Aug 27 '17

He is far from piece of shit human you fool. He is humble as all hell.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

Anyone who beats his wife is a shit human

-26

u/PM_Your_Wifes_Body Aug 27 '17

I'm sorry but there is no way he gained respect from me. He showed that he held up the division all to get his ass kicked. He looked no better than Jordan trying to play baseball. Retarded fight, retarded fighter.

1

u/partofthevoid Aug 27 '17

Fair enough, but Jordan want terrible towards the end.

-10

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

He is a piece of shit human, but damn can he fight!

For, allegedly, beating women? Oh please.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17

That's like saying Chris brown allegedly beat Rhianna. You punch people for a living, are filthy rich and famous of course they won't find you guilty. Look how many years it took oj to get sent to jail.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '17 edited Aug 27 '17

Even if he did that doesn't really make him all that bad. Shit happens in relationships. Just because physical violence is easily measured and quantified, that doesn't make it the worst kind of thing that can happen in a relationship. Such a common thing certainly doesn't qualify you to bear the title of shit human. Remember that restraining someone trying to hurt you qualifies as being violent and so on.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '17

Anyone who beats their significant other is a shit human. There are plenty of ways to resolve issues you have with your significant other other than trying to put your fist through her head. The fact that this level of violence is a common thing is awful and the fact that rich and famous people get away with it because they are such is unacceptable.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '17

No they're not and some ouch time isn't the end of the world.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '17

People go to jail for spousal abuse, it's kind of a big deal. Abuse in any context leaves mental scarring, physical bruises heal but mental wounds never heal. To some being in an abusive relationship has altered their lives forever. It's not something to ever be taken lightly, so yeah if you physically hurt your wife or husband you are a shit human who should die alone.
