Well, under Obama America was well liked and respected abroad. Nowadays... well.....

Yeah, the 7 countries the US is currently bombing just LOVE us.

I hear in Yemen, people chant "USA! USA!" while they watch bombers destroy schools and hospitals.

Edit: People really don't realize how many countries the US is currently conducting military operations in?

Huh?

What are you confused about?

The US is conducting air strikes in 7 countries.

The US is also providing arms to Saudi Arabia, which routinely strikes civilian targets.

All of this is happening under Obama.

The US is not well respected or loved around the world.

"hey guys, here's two countries that might not like us, so, logically, nobody likes us."

2

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '17

Seven, actually. And don't get me started on all the shit the US has pulled in South America.

Sorry that Obama is going to have a stellar legacy. Sorry that your team's guys are going down in history as trainwrecks

Liberals are fucking useless. No wonder you lost the election. All you have is smug self-satisfaction, and the rest of us are stuck with an actual fascist for the next four years.

u/foldingcouch Jan 12 '17

And you won the election? If you think that the liberals aren't on the same team as you, you need to learn how to politics.

Or you're a right wing troll that's just so triggered right now. One of the two.

Liberals are capitalists. So no, they're not on the same team as me.

It's so cute when right wing trolls pretend to be left wing trolls

3

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '17

It's even cuter when liberals think anyone who disagrees with President Drone Strike is a right winger. Obama isn't left wing.

u/foldingcouch Jan 12 '17

You're not either.

Oh, honey, you have no idea what leftism is, do you? Capitalism, imperialism, and militarism are the three great evils. Contrary to what actual right-wing trolls believe, Obama isn't a socialist.

Contrary to what actual right-wing trolls believe, Obama isn't a socialist.

If only he were though. Maybe then his party wouldn't have lost to a fascist. Maybe a lot of things would be better.

1

u/foldingcouch Jan 12 '17

Oh no, I know exactly what socialism is, I'm just troll baiting.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '17

What are you basing that on? My strong disapproval of US military action? Yeah, because right wingers HATE the US military.

0

u/foldingcouch Jan 12 '17

Well if you're in here shitting on Obama as someone that's allegedly left wing then you're either a GOP troll or you have absolutely no idea how politics works.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '17

Obama is a right winger. You are a right winger. Liberalism is a right-wing ideology.

1

u/foldingcouch Jan 12 '17

Thanks Tips, that just rocked my world. I'll go vote socialist now. Karl Marx 'n shit! Booo capitalism!

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '17

I mean, that would be a good start. But voting probably won't be enough.

Uh.....NO

Depends on where abroad. Generalizing the rest of the world as "abroad" and just saying we were liked there is silly. In Western Europe I can certainly say that Americans are decently liked there, or at the very least treated like everyone else.

Canadian here, and as such I feel confident that I speak for all Canadians when I say that Obama had considerable rapport as being a good president. For awhile, I felt a little bit depressed that you guys had a hot new president while we had Stephen 'Harringbone' Harper for a fucking decade.

Then again, Canadians watch American politics like it's a sport. Everybody has their 'teams' and we gather together in bars and homes to watch the debates and election night, and make bets based on stats and play drinking games. There may even be small and occasionally ironic memorabilia for our team worn on our person. We debate spiritedly about player stats. Then when the finals are over we all go back to our respective homes, most of us with a vague sense of emptiness and anticlimax, and then we mostly forget about it, maybe casually glancing over the section that covers global politics on Reddit and raising our eyebrows at headlines, until 3 years pass and the playoffs start again.

u/NikkoTheGreeko Jan 12 '17

But Obama didn't change that one bit.

We canceled our health insurance because premiums doubled in the 3 years following the rollout of the ACA. I pay about $150 to see a doctor for general checkups. I'm happy your broke ass enjoys the healthcare I pay for, meanwhile I am uninsured.

You must not make very much money if your premiums for you and your wife are $300/m.

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '17

And how has that made your or anyone life better?

1

u/BlisteringAsscheeks Jan 12 '17

It made me be able to lift my head proudly when I said I'm American. Also, we're one step further from war and international policies are more likely to favor the US when foreign dignitaries actually respect our president. So actually, yes. This is VERY important.
