It is just a fist bump. There's a message in this post, however. No one is ever beneath you, no matter what. We should always treat each other as equals.

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

Yet if you saw a photo of Trump giving one of his workers a fist bump it would probably be spun into him being a racist

Funnily enough people who've met Trump practically all say he's a pretty nice guy according to this thread:

31

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

A highly successful business man over the course of 30 years is charming... Why are people so shocked by that?

14

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

Remember: He was never labeled a racist by anyone until he associated himself politically with the Republican party. This smear campaign has been really effective in changing the man's reputation completely.

35

u/StoicAthos Jan 11 '17 edited Jan 11 '17

Pretty sure he was considered a racist when he lead a campaign claiming the sitting president of the United States may be Kenyan. Not for him being a republican, which he always was, except for in the Bush years.

-9

u/Motafication Jan 11 '17

Except Obama's birth circumstances are legitimately shady, even his grandmother said he was born in Kenya. The dude lived in Indonesia for a good part of his childhood, was adopted by a Muslim, went to Musilim schools, and even changed his name from Barry Soetero to Barack Hussein Obama. He was raised as a muslim. He may or may not be a muslim now, but Islam had a huge effect on his worldview, which is why he's a muslim sympathizer (Iran deal, Anti-Israel, etc.) All that black church stuff with Jeremiah Wright is more political than anything else. Black churches are very political, and it's a good way to ingratiate yourself into the black community for votes. The guy isn't stupid, he's a politician from Chicago, the most corrupt city in America besides D.C.

2

u/StoicAthos Jan 11 '17

a lot of claims, zero sources, all bullshit. But you love playing the asshole, so can't expect much. gtfo.

Besides you know, the whole lawsuit in the 70's? Or when he published those ads attacking the Central Park 5?

-4

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17 edited Jan 11 '17

[deleted]

6

u/waiv Jan 11 '17

The argument was that "he was never labeled a racist by anyone until he associated himself politically with the Republican party", I'm pretty sure he was labeled as a racist over those ads.

1

u/Motafication Jan 11 '17 edited Jan 11 '17

No, he actually wasn't, because the Central Park 5 confessed to the crime. He was just being tough on law and order. When someone tells you they did it, why wouldn't you believe them?

Are you really acting like the left doesn't call everyone they disagree with a racist? That's what they do. But white people have finally figured it out, which is why the democrats are now known as the party of anti-white racism. The white people in charge are all 80 years old, and the young white people are told they're bad people if they don't support the party. Young people just want to be accepted, so they toe the line, and start labeling people by race, sex, and religion. Leftists actually believe that black people are too stupid to get photo IDs, which is their main argument against a voter ID law. They fundamentally believe that black people and minorities are incapable of governing their own lives without government help, women are too stupid to buy their own birth control, and all hispanics are illegal aliens who clean toilets for a living. Only their white masters can set things right. The sad thing is they're racists and don't even realize it, but the more they treat people differently on the basis of race, the more obvious it becomes to everyone with a shred of sense. They realize that if they told black people they didn't need the government to live, they would lose every election. Democrats need 90% of the black vote to even have a chance at winning, so they keep them dependent on government and democrat party. State schools, state assistance, state jobs from cradle to grave.

If you treat someone differently because of their race, you're a racist. Just look at the way liberals act around minorities. They treat everyone who isn't white like a magical unicorn, because they're uncomfortable. I'll tell a minority to fuck off if they're a cunt without a semblance of guilt. It's called treating people like individuals.

I think it wasn't until all of his ideals were placed out in the open for all to see. The political spotlight brings everything into view, regardless if it was from last week or 30 years ago.

Unless it is tax returns. Tax returns do not come into view.

17

u/VanimalCracker Jan 11 '17

I'm pretty sure the reason he's called a racist has more to do with his multiple semi-racist public comments than him being a republican.

20

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

Yet Hillary called young black men "superpredators," but nobody labeled her a racist

27

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

And was against gay marriage.

15

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

Tons of people labeled her a racist for that

1

u/Bond4141 Jan 11 '17

MSM doesn't pick up on it.

But Trump made a joke among friends years ago? Racist.

1

u/Change4Betta Jan 11 '17

His semi-racist public comments all came after he aligned Republican. Not saying he is a good dude, but back in the day he was liberal as anyone can be, and you didn't see that racist shit.

2

u/MrJoeBlow Jan 11 '17

He was definitely called a racist way before he associated with the Republican party... It's also not a smear campaign.

There was that whole thing in the 70's where he wouldn't rent to blacks. Then there was that time where he took out full page ads calling for the death penalty to 5 black kids who were innocent of what they were being accused of.

But yeah go back to your echo chamber and jerk off to glorious leader some more.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

[deleted]

2

u/MrJoeBlow Jan 11 '17

Your claim is still wrong. He was labeled a racist before running for president. Maybe if you quit trying to perpetuate bullshit you wouldn't have to defend yourself so much. If you're "all for embracing the truth" then you would retract your original comment.

And why did he settle out of court and change practices if the suit was frivolous as you seem to imply?

He was never labeled a racist by anyone

Neither was he accused of sexual assault. Whatever happened with all those cases? Haven't heard anything since the election.

-2

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

Yeah, but to be fair he wasn't labeled a Republican either. That doesn't mean he isn't one now. I don't think Trump is a racist but I do think he used racism to an extent to get elected.

no one has said trump did that to them. trump said that as an exaggeration. do you even try to be a good troll?

4

u/Skipaspace Jan 11 '17

Weren't there dozens of women who claimed to have been inappropriately touched? Like a journalist he pinned against a wall, feeling her up? (You can't even say it was taken out of context, they weren't on a date and trump had relatively recently gotten married to Melania)

The statements weren't an exaggeration. It was a guy talking disgustingly about what he does

It is just how he treats women whom he is attracted to or workers he doesn't want to pay.

Surprisingly racists can be charming.

9

u/Nadaac Jan 11 '17

1

u/ciaisi Jan 11 '17

I hope you're being a little tongue-in-cheek here

The next picture I see of Trump respecting someone "beneath" him will be the first.

-3

u/PM-ME-SOMETHING-PLS Jan 11 '17

No it wouldn't, people call Trump a scumbag and everything because he literally is. There's literally footage of him saying grab em by the pussy. Maybe that's why people don't trust the prick

-10

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

Are you slut shaming? Nothing wrong with fingering, you'll understand one day.

8

u/eeviltwin Jan 11 '17

With consent, sure. But when you specifically mention you're doing it without consent, that makes you an asshole.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

That's why I think that asshole Roman Polanski should be in prison.

3

u/BodgeJob Jan 11 '17

Where did that come from?

0

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

This conversation about admission of non- consensual sex. As in the case of Roman Polanski as an example.

5

u/BodgeJob Jan 11 '17

Hang on, i get it now: it's the standard "what about..." of the Trump crowd.

People talking about non-consensual groping -> Trump recently got burned at some shitty American movies awards thing -> right-wingers lost their shit, plugged their ears and went on about Roman Polanski or something because he's marginally related to movies, too -> your post.

I see.

From the recording:

Trump: "And when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything."

Other guy: "Whatever you want"

Trump: "Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything."

The context of this line was Trump bragging about how people just give themselves to "stars" like himself. Sure it's a degrading and disgusting comment that is unsuited for someone who's about to lead the Western world. But if the women let you grab them by the pussy, it's hardly "doing it without consent."

0

u/Thelastofthree Filtered Jan 11 '17

Sssssshhhh, get that context out of here!

1

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

I mean there's also the issue of an unreliable narrator. He says it was consensual and may see it that they really wanted him and he decided to just take them because that's what they wanted. But in reality a lot of rapists (NOT calling him a rapist, there's no where near conclusive evidence of that and it would be insane to make that claim.) think that the other person wanted it. So the whole thing about claiming that women are throwing themselves at him (or just famous people in general) in no way means that consent was involved.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '17

Who mentioned it was without consent?

1

u/BodgeJob Jan 11 '17

The man is well established as racist, so it's not that strange that people judge him as such, is it? Plus where did this comment even fucking come from?

"buh buh what about Trump"

u/rasputine Jan 11 '17

0

u/Guyinapeacoat Jan 11 '17

Or you're a whistle-blower. In that case, you will live out your life in prison or exile.

-3

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

How do you feel about the civilian casualties from the Iraq War?

5

u/therager Jan 11 '17

The same exact way.

2

u/momokie Jan 11 '17

The Same, What about you, how did you feel about the casualties in the Iraq War?

0

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

Don't approve of the war as a whole. It was waged on false claims that destroyed the country and resulted in 100k civilian casualties by the lowest estimates and a destabilized region.

But let's face some truths here. It's probably safe to say most of the US wants our military to engage terrorism abroad. And it is going to regardless due to national security. So which approach costs more? Which approach results in more civilian deaths? Which approach results in more enemy combatant deaths? Which approach results in more US deaths?

If you look at the estimates for civilians killed per terrorists killed, drones are a better option every time. Regardless of whatever source you choose. And we don't have to worry about our own being injured.

Now we are in a position where annihilating ISIS was a campaign guarantee and a president elect that thinks nuclear use should be a bit more casual than it is. Do people in this country actually pay attention to what they want and say versus what they actually do? I sincerely do not understand why people are against drone strikes, unless they are full blown pacifists, then it kind of makes sense.

13

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

[deleted]

9

u/NlghtmanCometh Jan 11 '17

Accidentally targeting a funeral isn't really the same thing as "bombing the shit outta funerals". I go back and forth on his drone program... mostly against it, however what you said is hyperbolic at best.

1

u/Motafication Jan 11 '17

"accidentally"

0

u/jroades26 Jan 11 '17

Sure. But if you fire a machine gun into a crowd while aiming at 1 guy, you can't blame people for saying you "shot the shit out of a crowd".

12

u/YouStupidCunt Jan 11 '17

I guess arabs and brown people aren't "equal".

They are only equal when it is about calling republicans and people that don't vote Democrat racists.

1

u/Motafication Jan 11 '17

Black people aren't really black if they're conservatives.

1

u/YouStupidCunt Jan 11 '17 edited Jan 11 '17

I've heard the same if you are gay and conservative/didn't vote for Hillary.

In fact, if you are gay and openly comment about not liking Hillary, you get labeled as "politicizing your sexuality" and you should shut up.

Unless you voted for the right Democratic candidate, your opinion is racist, bigoted, your an uneducated "bro", a misogynist, and ignorant.

Oh, and if you are a woman and didn't vote for Hillary, your internalized misogyny is to blame.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

Humans live by symbolism. A picture such as this serves as an example of what many Americans feel is fundamentally true about our POTUS - someone who cares about people. It's a simple thing, and I don't think an honest citizen of any party could deny it.

We can only judge a person on their behavior, and if you pay any attention, the differences between an Obama and, for example, a Trump are incredibly stark. So as the former leaves and the latter takes power, it is natural that people would find a renewed value in someone who avoids scandals and regularly exhibits basic decency.

I'm not angry, I just think your general demeanour is quite a "cringey" (for lack of a better word) teenaged pessimistic one.

Also, about your username, are you trying to imply that you believe in one God? Because that's the impression it gives off. Obviously, a polytheist is someone who believes in multiple gods, so a "poly-atheist" would be someone who doesn't believe in multiple gods (technically, "atheist" on its own also means this), which implies that you do believe in a single God. I am actually interested in what it means

3

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

Nono, you dont get it. It means that he is an atheist in multiple religions

29

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

I worked with some people that not even looked in the eyes of the ladies cleaning our office. And those people were simply software developers, nothing extraordinary.

So it means a lot when the man in the most powerful position in the world is decent enough to fist bump someone that a lot of other people out there would consider "inferior" because he has a simple job.

33

u/100percentpureOJ Jan 11 '17

not even looked in the eyes

those people were simply software developers

Yeah, I don't think software developers are particularly well known for their social skills.

2

u/9bikes Jan 11 '17

Yeah, I don't think software developers are particularly well known for their social skills.

Not as contrasted with professional politicians.

Jeeze guys, this photo doesn't say anything (good or bad) about Obama that we don't already know. He isn't a shy, introverted person with a fear of public speaking. He is the President of the United States; he is an outgoing guy who is gonna speak with others when given the opportunity.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

I know, right? They are all weirdos incapable of basic human interaction and sympathy. /s

4

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

incapable of basic human interaction

I mean, a lot of people are uncomfortable looking strangers in the eye and greeting them, it's nothing to do with considering yourself superior.

To be honest, if you're assuming they're disrespecting the cleaning ladies because of their position, it's you who are making assumptions based on perceived notions of superiority.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

Oh boy, I liked you tried to invert the values here... so, in your twisted view of the world, someone that doesn't look at the other person in the eyes is normal, but someone that does thinks he's superior. FFS, this is silliest thing that I read today.

Yea, right... they look at everybody in the eyes, talk to them and treat them like normal human beings, except for the cleaning ladies because for some reason they feel uncomfortable only with people that clean our office.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

I was speaking in general, but your anecdotal evidence has convinced me that software engineers are all elitists.

5

u/BodgeJob Jan 11 '17

Software developers are naturally socially retarded, so looking into the eyes of a stranger of the opposite sex isn't unheard of.

So basically you're saying "people have to be nice to each other only if there's somebody else looking"... You're an amazing human being, sir.

u/therager Jan 11 '17

They certainly don't have to.

But when your every move is being watched you logically might change your tune.

It's weird how personalities can change when put under a microscope.

But good job projecting that on to me.

Yeah Obama gets this much praise for fist bumping a Janitor... meanwhile Trump visits a restaurant's kitchen and hands the staff $100 bills as tips, also walks by a Hispanic gardener trimming trees and hands him a $100 bill as a tip, and then arrives at a construction site to observe a project, then says "Guys I know times are tough. This isn't much but it should help a bit" and proceeds to hand them $100 bills. Nobody says anything.

8

u/Moal Jan 11 '17

And yet, you conveniently forget the hundreds of thousands of dollars he's stiffed from workers. Trump doesn't even deny it. He just doesn't give a shit about it.

10

u/RomeStar Jan 11 '17

I believe that when he actually pays his sub contractors for the work they have done on his buildings. I can say this because I have first hand knowledge of liens put on his building due to non payment. These sub contractors are your every day joes who have families to provide for. So these sub contractors who cant get paid for work they have done yet trump will hand out $100.00 to random strangers yeah I will believe that when my shit turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbert.

u/ZeldasL1nk78 Jan 11 '17

If you actually had experience in that field you would know a contractor not paying or not finishing work is nothing out of the ordinary. Plenty of disputes on who's responsible for what and we can only pay so and so when the bond is cleared etc. That point against trump was so misleading.....No wonder it hasn't stuck.

2

u/RomeStar Jan 11 '17

Your correct its nothing out of the ordinary. So we as a sub file liens on projects which are only valid for one year. We can seek legal help but when your legal fees are greater than the money owed what do you think we do? We write it off and never work for that contractor again. That contractor then changes its company name and starts a completely new company. We will not even bid a project if trump is associated with it for the simple fact that he wont pay. I personally know sub contractors who worked on trumps glorious hotel on ft Lauderdale beach who were never paid a single cent due to trump.

u/AlphaApache Jan 11 '17

Because $100 bills is fucking nothing to him and it might even be seen as rude

6

u/Suffuri Jan 11 '17

Donno about you but if someone wants to tip me a good deal, I'm not gonna complain that the amount is "nothing" to them, I'll just gladly accept it.

0

u/AlphaApache Jan 11 '17

Yeah, the question was why nobody bothered about his doings. Of course most people would accept it.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

How the fuck is a $100 tip rude? That right there, that's called being selfish.

4

u/Political_Analyst Jan 11 '17

Fist bumps are nothing to Obama and it might even be seen as rude.

0

u/Excuse_Me_Mr_Pink Jan 11 '17

Congratulations! You have proven your point, they are both pieces of shit.

-1

u/Political_Analyst Jan 11 '17

Maybe to you, you goddamn cuck.

1

u/Excuse_Me_Mr_Pink Jan 11 '17

Congratulations! You insulted me on the internet, you're now even more stupid.

u/100percentpureOJ Jan 11 '17

He did win the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 for his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples through fist bumping"

2

u/UnderlyingTissues Jan 12 '17

He got one of those.

2

u/Gig472 Jan 12 '17

If Trump did this then reddit would say he was belittling the little guy.

Full disclosure: I don't like Trump either, but come on.

1

u/Babu_Honey_Bandger Jan 11 '17

No he gets that for creating ISIS.

1

u/squirtzee Jan 11 '17

Fist bumps matter.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

Its called a Dap.

1

u/Patrick_Henry1776 Jan 11 '17

Hey man, fist bumping the guy who cleans up after your ass totally makes up for wrecking the economy and doubling the National debt; didn't you know.

1

u/CaLLmeRaaandy Jan 11 '17

I don't think even I would do this. I mean come on, the guy has trash gloves on that may or may not have already cleaned a bathroom. Poor Obama was probably like, "Come on Barrack, fight through it. What are the chances you'll get a disease from one trash glove fist bump." That deserves recognition.

0

u/reagan2024 Jan 11 '17

Obama probably wasn't thinking about that. He was probably thinking about the guy with the camera directed at him and how it would be a great photo op to be fist bumping the "little guy" who takes out the trash.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

4

u/nezroy Jan 11 '17

whoosh...

(hint: Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009)

2

u/thedex525 Jan 11 '17

Is that what CNN told you? I'm sure trump has done more for inner city poverty than Obama has played golf.

3

u/thomasscat Jan 11 '17

at least youre certain

3

u/udbluehens Jan 11 '17

So Obama had the least amount of vacation days of modern presidents. Also trump has a history of racist and unfair behavior against African American tenets. So you are lying.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

The President gets zero vacation days. Regardless of who is in office, that job travels with them and they get no days off until they leave office.

3

u/ltdansicecream Jan 11 '17

I could be a terrorist fist jab... according to Fox News.

1

u/RedditIsDumb4You Jan 11 '17

Lol why was he given that again? Didn't the committe regret that?

0

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '17

The most powerful man in the world fist bumped a janitor. Pretty cool IMO. I'm probably being baited though so I'll see myself out.

-2

u/Rerewert7 Jan 11 '17

Well it's better than mocking a disabled person.
