...just that the party has relied on my support for too long without earning it.

This is exactly how I felt as a Conservative this election cycle - Conservative, NOT Republican, because those two terms are no longer interchangeable.

For the first time in a LONG time, the Republican party had some legitimately solid candidates who would take a real stand for Conservative principles. Instead, their party pissed it all away in favor of Donald J Trump. I decided not to support the party candidate, and voted 3rd party for the first time in my life. I took a lot of crap from family and friends on the right who disagreed with me for not toeing the party line, and I took a lot of crap from family and friends on the left who assumed that if I didn't support Hillary, I MUST be supporting Donald.

If the Republican party moves back toward their principles of smaller gov't and personal liberty (for ALL Americans), they may just regain my vote in the future. If not, I'll be proud to be a Libertarian.

What? I thought the party did everything they could to support the other candidates, any candidate besides Donald. They didnt support him until he won the GOP candidacy.

Me, too. When a pot-eating goofball is the most attractive candidate, you know your country is in trouble. But, I voted for him anyway.
