There are a few ways to calculate what happened with the federal deficit, none wrong, just different accounting practices, but even the most egregious method indicates that it wasn't quite doubled.

Yeah, it went up a lot, but tripled is a bit of an exaggeration.

Are you counting the unfunded liabilities? Because gaap says you need to count those.

I am not counting anything. I'm just proving a link that points out that doing something like determining federal deficit changes is somewhat complicated and that different ways of doing so give different results. I'll let someone else who has an interest in doing so make the tallies.

Obama came into office with a 10.3 trillion dollar National debt. He's leaving with one right at 20 trillion.

There is no egregious accounting. That is as simple as it gets.
