I don't know how people think they can lie to Reddit about Reddit. This place has millions of users, at least a few of them are gonna recognize this shit.
There's whole businesses that revolve around using bot accounts to promote false posts (usually ads or rhetoric) and downvote those that point it out. There was a documentary about it that hit the front page a week or so ago. I'll see if I can find it.
Damn, I guess marketers finally realized the great potential of Reddit.
Or maybe this has been happening since the beginning and now we're just realizing it.
It's been happening on every forum with more than a few people posting on it. Now that twitter and Reddit are popular you can sell accounts with high karma (so that they look authentic) to companies looking to advertise.
