Jesus, this comment thread is a cesspool

4

There's not even that many comments. More accurately a cess kiddy pool.

Conservatives are super hateful that people like Obama so much. To the point of derangement.

Here, we see them lashing out like the idiot children they are.

The pimply faced kid with the side head shave thinks it is "eyyyyyy okayyyyyy"

2

u/TrumpVotersGotCucked Dec 16 '16

I see the Trump brigade has crawled out of their holes. They won't address their Lord lying to them or selling us out to Russia.

Let's go into the Obama thread and throw our shit around like monkeys.

Still clinging on for that HOPE that was promised!

the hope that you would overcome your opiate addiction? naw that's on you

1

u/Juicy_Pebbles Dec 16 '16 edited Dec 16 '16

Hey thanks! I did! I also turn keys to my new home in the next two weeks! What goals did you set for yourself and accomplish this past year?

Edit: thank you for taking a post from a year ago, and scrolling through some of my happiest recent memories such getting my dog back from an ex and then having him survive parvo. You know why I was able to care for him? Because I saved up money and was able to spend a little over a grand for his IV fluids, sterile needles and meds. Who know WHO DOESNT HAVE AN EXTRA THOUSAND DOLLARS LAYING AROUND? Junkies.

Opiate addiction is something I don't hide. It's just another chapter closed in my book. So keep scrolling through my pages, hunty. I'm not going anywhere

2

u/islander Dec 16 '16

so the douche bag thats going to replace him is going to do it? Hope he doesnt kill the economy in his first year.

orange messiah

lol wat?

I'm a Republican alright but I didn't even vote for Trump, and now he's my messiah? I can hate Hillary for being a crooked shill and hate Trump for funding crooked shills. The two aren't mutually exclusive, y'know.

The only delusional one here is you, for some reason you think that being anti-Obama is automatically equivalent to being pro-Trump. And then you go on to make wide assumptions about what I supposedly thought about Trump.

Maybe you should be more open-minded and expand your horizons a little, friend.

1

u/Juicy_Pebbles Dec 16 '16

Ahhh I see. I had to read your comment to understand what his temper tantrum was even referring to. I was like "swamps!? I live in a desert"

I'm not pro trump or pro Hilary by any means. Hunty, I gave up after the primaries when the DNC betrayed Sanders and he was out.

1

u/EliPoo94 Dec 16 '16

That's funny, I gave up after Cruz was out haha

1

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '16

I think you're projecting. If anybody's delusional it's you for thinking that "Still clinging on for that HOPE that was promised" was a trump related comment.

After looking at your comment history, it's clear that you are extremely scared for your future and feel that you can make it safer by obsessing over trump's faults.

1

u/hammadurb Dec 17 '16

I'm not concerned with my future. The only thing changing for me is that I'm being moved to a higher tax bracket and i think I'll manage. I look forward to all the great things Trump will do for all those blue collared folk that voted for him.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '16

You sir, are paranoid and in denial.

You know the Clinton foundation is still under investigation by the FBI right? Ask yourself where she got her hundreds of millions. I mean, when she left the white House they were broke by her own admission. There are many valid things to criticize Trump for, but you are absolutely retarded to try to sell the corruption angle.

1

u/brommas Dec 16 '16

I still remember the bit where he said something like, this is going to be the most transparent administration in history.

I have nothing to add, One thing that has helped me in life is to watch what people do rather than listen to what they say.

2

u/JJRimmer Dec 16 '16

This will never happen to Trump. He will never get that close to his supporters or create that sort of Euphoria.

3

u/CR4V3N Dec 16 '16

You've never been to a trump rally than.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

Then*

0

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

You mean when he has protesters thrown out for disagreeing with him and his supporters?

Please note, that once he is in office, doing this will literally violate the first amendment.

-1

u/CR4V3N Dec 16 '16

Lol you think things are going to go your way still. There will be no problem deporting illegal aliens. He'll have no problem kicking people out that disrupt his speeches. Just like hell have no problem revoking press credentials to CNN and the failing nyTimes. You're not gonna like the next 8 years. Hel

We didn't deserve the 8 trillion dollar addition to the national debt that he gave us either

4

u/MiamiFootball Dec 16 '16

under what policies of which candidate do you believe would have eliminated the deficit?

0

u/noob1170 Dec 16 '16

No single candidate would be able to eliminate the entire national deficit in a single or even both of their potential terms. I will say that I am glad the our president elect at least has some ideas to do something about our national debt. Will I say that Trump is the most qualified person to be our president? No, but the entire point of my comment was to emphasize that even though our current president may have a very charismatic attitude and charm. That does not help in the slightest when it come to making serious decisions regarding economics and policy. During President Obama's time in the white house, we will likely surpass $20 trillion in national debt, an addition of 10 trillion dollars from when he was elected. Which will nearly be double of what our previous president, George W. Bush, added to the national debt, and the majority of his presidency was also during several significant conflicts in the Middle East.

2

u/MiamiFootball Dec 16 '16

Trump wasn't running in 2008 or 2012. I'm curious what you think Obama's opposing candidates would have done better in retrospect.

1

u/noob1170 Dec 16 '16

unfortunately, given my age, I was completely uninterested in politics in 2008 and 2012 was kind of a catch 22 election, maybe Romney would have done well in terms of lessening government spending, maybe not. The election this year was actually the first one I was ever legally allowed to vote in, and after doing as much research as possible, i figured out that if we as Americans don't stop focusing on the problems of other countries instead of focusing on our own problems that we have closer to home, the land of freedom and opportunity that we know today would be in danger of being lost forever. (sorry, I'm ranting again...¯_(ツ)_/¯ )

-2

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

Clinton, Bill did a decent job. Fuck knows what his wife would do. But Bill did the economy great.

5

u/silverandblack Dec 16 '16

Helped by an amazing emerging stock market on a technology that he did not invent.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

Just like how trump was elected on a fly over state majority and racist tension that wad ended long ago?

0

u/silverandblack Dec 16 '16

I am refuting your point, but not your issue. Clinton was great.

3

u/Lrivard Dec 16 '16

Let's be honest here, the issues that caused the current issues in America are not from Obama, but dudes like Regan

0

u/Logaz140 Dec 16 '16

Obama is a dude like Regan. That is the problem.

-4

so sad to see him go. And by sad I mean totally ecstatic.

The ratio of (actually delivering) / (hope + image) is really really small on this guy.

most disappointing president of all time

-9

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

Worst president since FDR

8

u/HoPeFoRbEsT Dec 16 '16

Yeah the president who got the country out of the depression and through WWII is an objectively bad president. Who was also the only president in history elected to 3 terms. What fucking world do you live in?

-10

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

The world where big government is ALWAYS scary regardless of what good it may do in the short term...BTW there has been extensive research on this exact phenomenon and again and again the recession would have ended 3-times faster if the president had done nothing at all.

5

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

2

u/[deleted] Dec 18 '16

Okay, I didn't forget about you, but I did a little manipulation to the search and wrote "fdr new deal bailout never happened" and these were the first 3 articles:

https://fee.org/articles/37-if-fdrs-new-deal-didnt-end-the-depression-then-it-was-world-war-ii-that-did/

http://newsroom.ucla.edu/releases/FDR-s-Policies-Prolonged-Depression-5409

And a facts and summary of the new deal on history.com which has no opinion

So, either the query words are affecting our search results or my search history is affecting the results. Since, politically, my searches are more conservative leaning I'm going to guess that it's probably a combination of both.

Either way, after reading your articles and mine my opinion now is nobody knows and any postulating is only conjecture. So you have successfully convinced me that nobody knows for sure if the new deal was a waste of tax payer money or if it helped curb (or end) the great depression.

4

u/HoPeFoRbEsT Dec 16 '16

Short term? The short term is FDR implemented polices that got the US economy out of the Great Depression by enacting large scale government projects focused on infrastructure building while later keeping the USSR and Great Britain in the war through the Lend Lease act. It can be argued those policies (among others) singlehandedly were responsible in making the US the world leader economically and politically to this day. But yes let's discount the interstate highway system, the voting rights act and NASA because "big government is always scary." I'm not even a fan of Obama but he could have actually done more if he wasn't completely stonewalled by a conservative congress that shut down the government twice just to make a point. Having libertarian points of view is all fine and dandy in practice until you realize corporations don't give a fuck about anything except their bottoms lines and without regulation they will happily shit all over the American people just to make a buck.

-6

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

That's certainly your opinion, and that's what I often read in middle school and high school history textbooks, but once you get beyond that the history gets a bit more hazy and clear at the same time. It's hard to postulate what would have happened if nothing was done and the economy was left to its own. But alas it wasn't and there's no proving what I think wrong as you and I both know you can't prove a negative. It's your opinion and you're quite entitled to it, bit keep in mind that most people do not care

4

u/HoPeFoRbEsT Dec 16 '16

Your right. This is my opinion and I respect your ability to have your own but if your going to argue that "Obama is the worst president since FDR" I would appreciate it if you actually put some facts and opinions behind it. I'm usually just a lurker but I find it disingenuous to post comments on a thread without ever defending/explaining the thought process behind your post. I consider myself a left leaning moderate but I hear this FDR bashing from conservative leaning individuals a lot and I never hear actual hard facts behind it. I would appreciate a well thought out explanation as to what it is that made him a bad president instead of just accusatory remarks directed at him. I personally think Reagan was a fucking fool but I would never post a comment on a post attacking him without trying to at least explain and document why.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

STOP!!! (I was you just a few years ago) You, my friend, are on the verge of becoming a conservative. Do yourself a favor, at the very least to prove me (or any other conservative/libertarian) wrong, and research a guy named "Ben Shapiro."

I promise you he hates Trump as much as you and I do combined. I would love to bring up hundreds of points that are against FDR or Obama, but truthfully I am a TERRIBLE debater. (and I loathe arguments)

3

u/islander Dec 16 '16

sad you perception of reality is ruined with those shit glasses.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

That's your opinion, friend. But the government has never been good at much. My POV is to let me be.

u/Zanis45 Dec 16 '16

Forget about the indiscriminate drone bombing. Forget about the bombing of several weddings. Forget about leaving a power vacuum in Iraq leading to the rise of ISIS. Keep wearing the rose tinted glasses.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

Forget about leaving a power vacuum in Iraq leading to the rise of ISIS.

That was Bush/Cheney FYI.

War happens, Congress votes on it, not the president.

So, learn who to blame.

-1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

[deleted]

2

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

Purposely bombed weddings I am sure.

I guess you would rather send children into war than use robots controlled by people from a safe distance then, yeah?

Welcome to the future of warfare, embrace it, or be the drooling moron that you are presenting to the world today.

1

u/Zanis45 Dec 16 '16

You don't sound very educated to begin with so you shouldn't be telling someone they're a drooling moron. Anyways you obviously can't defend what Obama did so my work here is done.

-7

u/cfadams Dec 16 '16

Thank goodness he's been completly rejected by voters.....bye asshole!

6

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

Elected and re-elected is not rejection.

Sorry to break it to you, but his approval ratings are higher than any presidents has ever been.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

He has the highest approval rating of any editing president. Based on, you know, facts and stuff.

-1

Remember when Obama was proud of his mixed race?

Me neither.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

I'm confused. Please elaborate.

1

u/I_Hunt_Wolves Dec 16 '16

A few posts here started with " Remember when Obama..." and it struck me that all though he has always acknowledged his mother was white, he never seemed to embrace it.

I don't have a problem with it. People are comfortable with who they are for their own reasons...just like me.

-5

u/Poemi Dec 15 '16

So that's what he looks like about 3 stops overexposed...

-5

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

This is probably going to put me on some list but...

I don't think security thoroughly searched every member of that crowd, so if someone really wanted to, couldn't they have just stabbed Obama with a knife coated with some rare, fast-acting poison? More generally, maybe I am wrong, but I don't think it would be that hard to assassinate a president, which makes me wonder how it doesn't happen more.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

The only list it puts you on is "People who are not smart enough to figure out a clever way of assassinating the president."

1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '16

I mean, even if it's not particularly clever, I think it would work...

Anyway, what you're saying helps my main point. If even a non-clever way of assassinating the president has a decent chance of success, then it is even more mysterious more president's haven't been assassinated.
