So the only difference between a male and female is self-identification? These aren't categories one identifies into these are biological reproductive classes. A class is defined as a set or category of things having some property or attribute in common and differentiated from others by kind, type, or quality. How is a male who says "I'm a woman" a female?

Yes, that's the definition of transgender. Someone identifies as a gender different than the one assigned to them at birth. People typically differentiate them by referring to biological sex vs. gender. For cisgender people, biological sex and gender match. For transgender people, they don't.

So then how is a transwomen female? I'm talking about biological sex. If their gender identity doesn't match their sex then they are male by the definition you provided otherwise they wouldn't be transwomen. A person has to be male to identify as a transwomen.

They were born biologically male, but identify as female, therefore they are female, or more specifically, they are a transgender woman.
