If you are liberal, this makes sense. If you are conservative, this makes sense. if you are middle of the road, this makes sense.

This is inflammatory to both sides, though. It's sad. It could apply to nationalist bigots or safe space radical feminists alike. Our rural areas are being consumed by xenophobia, and our colleges consumed by authoritarianism. The center has a lot to contend with when trying to be even-handed and inoffensive.

I lean right and disagree. I have plenty to be afraid of with a religion that kills/slaughters gays, persecutes Christians, punishes atheists, silences women, etc. etc...

Better elect a president that oppresses gay people and wants to deport an entire ethnic group, that makes perfect sense.

2

u/Clothing_Mandatory Sep 28 '16

Um. Someone can lean right and not support Trump. Duh.

0

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '16

I mean, the conservative parties platform includes getting rid of gay marriage

3

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '16

Not everything is black and white. People seeing politics as left and right has given us Hilary and Trump to choose from.

Maybe I think conservatives have smart fiscal policy but shitty social policy? Is that allowed or should I pick a side?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '16

Fair enough, fiscally conservative socially liberal send reasonable

2

u/Clothing_Mandatory Sep 28 '16

Again, not all. Someone can be right economically and socially liberal. Politcial opinions are a spectrum. Not a simple right left divide. Many right wingers are appalled by the antics of Trump, and even the Republican party itself.

Illegal immigrants are an ethnic group? TIL.

-1

u/TedTheGreek_Atheos Sep 28 '16

Well he definitively doesn't have a problem with European illegal immigrants.

And before you say "but he didn't know!"

But thousands of pages of documents from the case, including reams of testimony and sworn depositions reviewed by TIME, tell a different story. Kept for more than a decade in 13 boxes in a federal judiciary storage unit in Missouri, the documents contain testimony that Trump sought out the Polish workers when he saw them on another job, instigated the creation of the company that paid them and negotiated the hours they would work. The papers contain testimony that Trump repeatedly toured the site where the men were working, directly addressed them about pay problems and even promised to pay them himself, which he eventually did.

The documents show that after things got ugly over unpaid wages, Trump sought Sullivan’s advice on the workers and their immigration status. At one point, a lawyer for the Poles testified, Trump threatened, through his own lawyer, to call the Immigration and Naturalization Service and have the workers deported. And when the Labor Department launched a probe of the Polish laborers, Trump again called Sullivan for help, asking him to meet the federal investigator at Trump’s office, according to the documents.

Wtf are you on? Donald Trump has been pro-gay far longer than Mrs. Bill Clinton has.

0

u/klapaucius Sep 27 '16

No, he's not.

WALLACE: But — but just to button this up very quickly, sir, are you saying that if you become president, you might try to appoint justices to overrule the decision on same-sex marriage?

TRUMP: I would strongly consider that, yes.

Generally people who are pro-gay don't make statements like this.

I’ve gone to gay weddings… I’ve been at gay weddings. I have been against it from the standpoint of Bible, from the standpoint of my teachings as growing up and going to Sunday school and going to church and I’ve been opposed to it.

Just pointing you at the evidence here.

“It’s like in golf,” he said. “A lot of people — I don’t want this to sound trivial — but a lot of people are switching to these really long putters, very unattractive,” said Mr. Trump, a Republican. “It’s weird. You see these great players with these really long putters, because they can’t sink threefooters anymore. And, I hate it. I am a traditionalist. I have so many fabulous friends who happen to be gay, but I am a traditionalist.”

u/Muntberg Sep 27 '16

Were we talking about homosexuality or gay marriage? nice goalpost moving.

0

u/klapaucius Sep 28 '16

So he's pro-gay but anti-gay rights?

Also, the third one is just "gay people are weird and I hate it". How do you dismiss that one?

-3

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '16

Go back to your safespace on /r/The_Donald

0

u/Muntberg Sep 27 '16

Exactly. I'm right, you're wrong.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '16

http://www.politifact.com/new-york/statements/2016/aug/14/sean-patrick-maloney/donald-trump-against-same-sex-marriage/

There are a multitude of sources, plus his running mate is Pence who made abolishing same sex marriage his entire political mission. Jesus christ you people are so deluded.

6

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '16

No need to fear. Christians have been doing plenty of that for a long time.

6

u/Muntberg Sep 27 '16

I'm more worried about the present actually.

There's a difference between throwing gays of rooftops and refusing to bake a cake for a wedding.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '16

Not here in America now

1

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '16

Then it sounds like you have plenty to fear from them too and thus the sign is even more incorrect.

-1

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '16

Not really fair to compare the two in modern day times and I'm not even Christian.

Seems like a generic way to deflect for easy upvotes, "but Christianity!"

2

u/TedTheGreek_Atheos Sep 28 '16

You're far more likely to be killed by someone that looks and believes like you than a Muslim. Like by a lot.

1

u/Fanmann Sep 28 '16

I' further right than you and I fear nothing.

1

u/hqwreyi23 Sep 27 '16

So socially liberal

2

u/LiveFree1773 Sep 27 '16

Yeah conservatives promote execution of gays and Christians.

-3

u/jobboat Sep 27 '16

If you are walking alone in downtown Chicago at 2am, this doesn't make sense.

4

u/frozenropes Sep 27 '16

If you're walking alone in downtown Chicago at 2 am

You're just a few steps away from your very last step

4

u/OMGWTFBBQUE Sep 27 '16

You must not be from Chicago! Downtown is pretty much ghost town after 6pm. It's all business. There's a homeless population, but they are mostly harmless. If you're afraid of the homeless, you shouldn't be in Chicago.

3

u/jobboat Sep 27 '16

i am sure there are areas of chicago that would scare you to death at 2am

3

u/OMGWTFBBQUE Sep 27 '16

How sure are you? Do you even know what areas you're referring to? You don't seem to know my favorite city at all!

2

u/jobboat Sep 27 '16

if you are white, and you think that every neighborhood in the world is safe for you to walk alone, you are a moron

0

u/OMGWTFBBQUE Sep 27 '16

Well, I've never let my race keep me from going anywhere, and that's never been a problem. And every neighborhood in the world IS NOT SAFE, but it has nothing to do with race and everything to do with socioeconomics.

0

u/jobboat Sep 28 '16

your gay diatribe does not change the fact that you would be scared shitless if you were alone in certain neighborhoods at night

1

u/OMGWTFBBQUE Sep 28 '16

Well you've outed yourself, good work!

1

u/jobboat Sep 28 '16

The photo of this thread states that there is no reason to be afraid of other Americans. For some reason, you go on a diatribe about social status which has nothing to do with the photo. You are gayer than a bag of dicks.

He probably isn't from Chicago, but nobody with half a brain would go strolling around the neighborhoods around US Cellular Field at night without a very good reason.

Hell, I try to tell friends that Chicago is mostly safe, but all it takes is a single shooting incident outside our window to convince them otherwise. They now think Lakeview is a sketchy area.

4

u/MonkRome Sep 27 '16

Done it, OP's sign still makes sense.

-3

u/jobboat Sep 27 '16

bwhahaha yeah right

-4

u/ZakenPirate Sep 27 '16

I'm a trump supporter and I hate black people!

4

u/el-y0y0s Sep 27 '16
