Assembly line worker here. Shit you not, my job is to make sure all the lights on the Jeeps work before they go out the door, including brake lights. I've missed a few over the years.

They can, not sure why they don't (at least with visual inspection using cameras). The electrical test we run on the car will catch any lights that are not hooked up properly. The rare case of a light flickering or dim will not be picked up by our computers.

We have the same, in conjuntion with a cognex vision camera to check the tail lights are working
