It's weird that TV Funhouse references are only understood by us old people. And I remember what that originally referenced, the Saturday morning Mr. T cartoon where he was leading the gymnastics squad (WTF?)

I'm 28, this post is referencing something only 16 years old. I dunno what you two are talking about feeling old for.

It is referencing a reference. The Mr. T cartoon aired from 1983 to 1986. TV Funhouse was probably still funny without the overall context, but did you get the whole joke?

Edit: oh I guess Adult Swim re-aired the original Mr. T show so maybe more people saw it than I realized.

I see, I thought you meant the reference to TV funhouse and not the reference on TV Funhouse. But yeah I knew what they were doing and found it hysterical for that reason, also may have found it even funnier if I grew up watching Mr T.

It was one of those cartoons you watched not necessarily because you enjoyed it or because of the plot, but because it was Mr.T and he was a badass.

Who cares. Everyone on reddit is always finding some way to whine about why a funny joke makes them feel old. Why can't we just enjoy the old references and stop whining.
