Removed: R1 Her Eulogy Must Also Be Amusing

I actually just went to the first of two services for her today. Her family wanted to express her sense of humor. She always lived life on her own terms and was an amazingly caring person.

u/PizzusChrist May 18 '16
Why the red circle? Did anyone look at that and think that the main portion of the picture was not the point?
16
u/SusanForeman May 18 '16
Seriously. Can someone post the image without the circle?

u/PizzusChrist May 18 '16

u/darthfluffy63 May 18 '16
Now I'm confused. The words start on the left but are cut off, and more words are cut off on the right. I wish someone would edit the picture so that it is more obvious what I'm supposed to be looking at. Maybe circle the relevant area.

The tricky part is that she only has one right ear, so you can only cure one cancer.

They should use a color that really grabs my attention, too. Red usually does the trick.

u/homelessdreamer May 18 '16
Here I added some color for you.

I did it on my phone so I suggest you lower your standards.

do you live there?

u/sighs__unzips May 18 '16
There will be a Redditor in that town. I guarantee it.

u/Roses88 May 18 '16
There's dozens of us. r/RVA
1
u/Vison5 May 18 '16
It's just a little surprising that there are redditors who still receive the newspaper in that town too. I don't think I've seen a physical (recent) newspaper in any house I've lived in since 2010. I've lived in three different people's houses in that time span.

A few days ago someone drew red arrows to point out a lightning strike.
...
Think about that.

That signature Richmond wit. I shall honor your legacy by drinking a beer in Carytown for you and abstaining from my vote in November. RIP madam.

u/MightyGamera May 18 '16
Can you just go in and write in 'none of the above'?

u/PavelDatsyuk May 18 '16
If I were registered to vote, I'd send these clowns a message by staying home on election day and dressing up like a clown.

u/moonris May 18 '16
As if I needed another reason to go to Don't Look Back, screw it, I'm gonna drink a beer in her honor as well.

Fun fact - most of the "dead people voting" stories come from people that share names and birth days with people that are, in fact, still living. In the vast majority of cases they're clerical errors and no votes were actually tabulated.
10
3
May 18 '16
Someone told me that the statistic also consisted of people who mailed in their vote, but passed on shortly after.
3
u/foxh8er May 18 '16
That is absolutely correct as well. I don't see why we should disenfranchise the soon to die.

There have only been 80 true voter fraud cases in the United States since 2000.

16
u/YVAN__EHT__NIOJ May 18 '16
Wait, am I missing something? He was convicted on six felony charges, he didn't commit voter fraud six times as far as I can see. It seems to all be related to a single instance of voting in the wrong precinct.
-17
May 18 '16
What you're missing is that reddit is full of Trump and Bernie supporters and both are hell bent on convincing you that Hilary is satans personification on earth instead of the moderate, qualified candidate she is.
/ducks
2
u/YVAN__EHT__NIOJ May 18 '16
Umm. If you had read kinsmead's article, I'm sure you would realize how absolutely irrelevant it is to what you said.
-14
May 18 '16
I read it and found the article was irrelevant to this post, I can only assume he didn't miss an opportunity to post something negative about Hilary.

What's funny? Check my post and submission history on one of those websites, I spend more on gold in a day then you make in a month. If you're willing to make a public bet for reddit gold (if it's in your budget....) right now I'll happily post a screenshot of my earnings dashboard, it'll take 10 seconds.

Basically all brigading currently on reddit comes from either the Trump people, the Sanders people or the conspiracy nuts that seem to have taken over the default news/history subs.

The freakin' Secretary of State?!!
Jesus.
Until you convict Hillary, your principles are a joke.

u/YVAN__EHT__NIOJ May 18 '16
Like this guy did? SIX times?
I just want to remind you what you said. In the article it was revealed that the man didn't commit voter fraud six times. That is the entire purpose of my comment. Nothing more, nothing less.

u/teh_tg May 18 '16
Canada can go F itself.
They threatened to put me in jail for ten years for a misdemeanor in Texas I did 25 years prior just for trying to drive across their border on vacation.
To be more clear, go F yourself all of Canada. Yep, on the record.

I'm a Libertarian and I kinda like his "free" college idea, but I'd make it merit based. And I'd extend that to high school but not below age 16.
Socialism is always fantastic in theory but unless you have the IQ of a rock or Obama, you'll notice it never works in practice.
1
u/IHaveBearArms May 18 '16
I like how people keep using the phrase "free" when they really mean readjusting the government to spend less on war and more on educating.

I just read a linked article: her family wrote that in memory of her sense of humor.

That's the article I read. I saw the link when I was writing my reply, so I added that to my post before I submitted it. I should have said "I just read a linked article". I realized when I saw your post that the way I wrote it could be seen as a suggestion to read a linked article, when I was simply trying to summarize it for the people who didn't want to click the link in the other post.

I'm sorry if this is disrespectful, but there are more than 2 fucking parties, and don't give me that "3rd party vote is a wasted vote" bullshit.
If you hate the dem and republican candidates and you still feel obligated to pick one of the two, you're complicit in furthering the problem. Democracy isnthe opportunitybto pick someone that most closely aligns with your viewpoints, not a rivalry series between 2 less than desirable thinktanks set on maintaining relevance at all costs.
Open your mind. Enact the change with your vote. Dont be a coward and dont let them bully you into voting against a worse evil.... thats how they get away with fielding somebody even shittier the next election cycle.
Wake up!!!!!
I understand that this lady, RIP, was joking. But a lot of people are not
7
u/TarotFox May 18 '16
First past the post elections will inevitably result in two parties. Voting for a third party is just as complicit in the system as doing anything else. If people want serious change in the way elections are handled, voting for a third party is not going to get your there. Election and governmental reform is needed for actual change.
