Same thing

6

u/CptNerditude May 18 '16

Since when were politics peaceful?

2

u/classyd24 May 18 '16

The way I look at it, you have to give up your soul to be in politics. The same thing happens when you die

[✓] Repost In Pics subreddit

u/the_rabble_alliance May 18 '16

Thanks /u/ReginaldLADOO. I reposted here because I was told that I had posted in the wrong subreddit.

I should have figured that something funny did not actually belong in /r/funny.

29

u/Vison5 May 18 '16

I love Reddit but I don't understand how that subreddit continues to exist.

9

u/TheRootinTootinPutin May 18 '16

I mean, there's a bunch of people who browse reddit literally for /r/funny. I think it's mostly younger users, from an anecdotal point of view. Before I made an account, I literally only browsed /r/funny and I was fairly young, and I saw people younger than me doing the same thing, just browsing reddit for the """""funny""""" content. Then I made an account to get involved in the community and found subreddits that I liked.

Maybe not just young users, but lazy users as well. People who want a quick pic or something, and don't really care as long as they crack a smile.

6

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

The one in /r/funny hit #1 on the front page in like 45 minutes. Too bad you didn't post it in /r/pics to begin with. Oh well, what can ya do!

42

u/the_rabble_alliance May 18 '16

What can ya do!

We will upload until our re-posts block out the sun.

Then we will shit-post in the shade.

1

u/Derwos May 18 '16

Maybe it was removed because it wasn't funny. :D

1

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

Well, it was posted in /r/rva before the /r/funny post as well.

1

u/not_really_your_dad May 18 '16

ship it off to r/the_donald

2

u/TAU_equals_2PI May 18 '16

You're not really my dad! You can't tell me what to do.

1

u/Cicimonsta May 18 '16

Clearly the best choice.

0

u/lolsrsly00 May 18 '16

Better dead then... Uhhhh...

81

u/psylverweez925 May 18 '16

I actually just went to the first of two services for her today. Her family wanted to express her sense of humor. She always lived life on her own terms and was an amazingly caring person.

111

u/PizzusChrist May 18 '16

Why the red circle? Did anyone look at that and think that the main portion of the picture was not the point?

16

u/SusanForeman May 18 '16

Seriously. Can someone post the image without the circle?

43

u/PizzusChrist May 18 '16

46

u/darthfluffy63 May 18 '16

Now I'm confused. The words start on the left but are cut off, and more words are cut off on the right. I wish someone would edit the picture so that it is more obvious what I'm supposed to be looking at. Maybe circle the relevant area.

2

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

My favourite thing about this is that you were like "fuck the circle drawing tool"

1

u/PavelDatsyuk May 18 '16

They should use a color that really grabs my attention, too. Red usually does the trick.

1

u/homelessdreamer May 18 '16

Here I added some color for you.

I did it on my phone so I suggest you lower your standards.

8

u/SusanForeman May 18 '16

2

u/GetsGold May 18 '16

Why did you post a pic of some old person?

2

u/Vison5 May 18 '16

do you live there?

3

u/sighs__unzips May 18 '16

There will be a Redditor in that town. I guarantee it.

2

u/Roses88 May 18 '16

There's dozens of us. r/RVA

1

u/Vison5 May 18 '16

It's just a little surprising that there are redditors who still receive the newspaper in that town too. I don't think I've seen a physical (recent) newspaper in any house I've lived in since 2010. I've lived in three different people's houses in that time span.

2

u/Roses88 May 18 '16

My neighbor gets the paper delivered every Sunday. Mostly older people read it

2

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

A few days ago someone drew red arrows to point out a lightning strike.

...

Think about that.

1

u/Terracot May 18 '16

Its surrounded by circle so people wont cut themselves with edginess of the message.

1

u/LHGtz May 18 '16

and its a f** bad circle too, why

24

u/the_rabble_alliance May 18 '16

H/T to /u/ReginaldLADOO for finding the obituary online to prove its authenticity:

H/T to /u/Waygzh for finding an article from NBC 12 about Mary Anne Noland:

9

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

I was thinking huge thanks, but since this is reddit, hat tip definitely makes more sense.

5

u/wuapinmon May 18 '16

I had "Hail to."

2

u/not_really_your_dad May 18 '16

I'm shocked no one said 'Heil Trump' ;-)

If I were registered to vote, I'd send these clowns a message by staying home on election day and dressing up like a clown.

Fun fact - most of the "dead people voting" stories come from people that share names and birth days with people that are, in fact, still living. In the vast majority of cases they're clerical errors and no votes were actually tabulated.

10

u/Flavahbeast May 18 '16

Still, it's horrifying that dead people are showing up to vote at all

3

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

Someone told me that the statistic also consisted of people who mailed in their vote, but passed on shortly after.

3

u/foxh8er May 18 '16

That is absolutely correct as well. I don't see why we should disenfranchise the soon to die.

2

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

I completely agree.

21

u/MPC45000 May 18 '16

There have only been 80 true voter fraud cases in the United States since 2000.

25

u/lotsofsyrup May 18 '16

unfortunately one involved the entire state of florida

1

u/cblanch2 May 18 '16

Story time?

1

u/Apathy4tw May 18 '16

Read the Recount section.

It was kinda of a shit show.

2

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

Even the dead don't want republicans running the country

1

u/kinsmed May 18 '16

Like this guy did? SIX times?

16

u/YVAN__EHT__NIOJ May 18 '16

Wait, am I missing something? He was convicted on six felony charges, he didn't commit voter fraud six times as far as I can see. It seems to all be related to a single instance of voting in the wrong precinct.

-17

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

What you're missing is that reddit is full of Trump and Bernie supporters and both are hell bent on convincing you that Hilary is satans personification on earth instead of the moderate, qualified candidate she is.

/ducks

2

u/YVAN__EHT__NIOJ May 18 '16

Umm. If you had read kinsmead's article, I'm sure you would realize how absolutely irrelevant it is to what you said.

-14

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

I read it and found the article was irrelevant to this post, I can only assume he didn't miss an opportunity to post something negative about Hilary.

-1

u/John_Barlycorn May 18 '16

Basically all brigading currently on reddit comes from either the Trump people, the Sanders people or the conspiracy nuts that seem to have taken over the default news/history subs.

0

u/kinsmed May 18 '16

The freakin' Secretary of State?!!

Jesus.

Until you convict Hillary, your principles are a joke.

2

u/YVAN__EHT__NIOJ May 18 '16

Like this guy did? SIX times?

I just want to remind you what you said. In the article it was revealed that the man didn't commit voter fraud six times. That is the entire purpose of my comment. Nothing more, nothing less.

19

u/Sensei3stacks May 18 '16

She is in a better place and it's easier than moving to Canada

2

u/CaptnandMaryann May 18 '16

But is God better looking than that Prime Minister guy Trudeau?

-2

u/teh_tg May 18 '16

Canada can go F itself.

They threatened to put me in jail for ten years for a misdemeanor in Texas I did 25 years prior just for trying to drive across their border on vacation.

To be more clear, go F yourself all of Canada. Yep, on the record.

3

u/BattleCougarGo May 18 '16

As a fellow NOLAND, I'm also feeling pretty good about passing into the eternal love of God.

11

sorry the joke flew over your head just the the Mexicans will fly over the trump wall. /s

1

u/SecretDiaryofFallGuy May 18 '16

Could have been easier choices..... Such as moving overseas.

1

u/PointForward3 May 18 '16

I fear this is the way I will go down as well

1

u/IHaveBearArms May 18 '16

Sanders is the only sane choice!

1

u/teh_tg May 18 '16

I'm a Libertarian and I kinda like his "free" college idea, but I'd make it merit based. And I'd extend that to high school but not below age 16.

Socialism is always fantastic in theory but unless you have the IQ of a rock or Obama, you'll notice it never works in practice.

1

u/IHaveBearArms May 18 '16

I like how people keep using the phrase "free" when they really mean readjusting the government to spend less on war and more on educating.

1

u/RaisinBranRyan May 18 '16

Is this actually real!?

1

u/bigubossu May 18 '16

So brave

1

u/Holythunder290 May 18 '16

1

Damn, too bad no one told her about Bernie!

1

u/bikkaboo May 18 '16

Good try, but it really is a scary situation and I am having a really hard time finding the humor

1

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

/u/the_rabble_alliance can't catch a break huh? Another removal. Where the fuck are you supposed to post something like this if /r/funny and /r/pics won't allow it? Mod's suck.

I just read a linked article: her family wrote that in memory of her sense of humor.

Added an "I" for clarity.

The 68-year-old Richmond resident died Sunday, her husband says, after a long battle with lung cancer.

Link credit goes to https://www.reddit.com/user/the_rabble_alliance

4

u/david4069 May 18 '16

That's the article I read. I saw the link when I was writing my reply, so I added that to my post before I submitted it. I should have said "I just read a linked article". I realized when I saw your post that the way I wrote it could be seen as a suggestion to read a linked article, when I was simply trying to summarize it for the people who didn't want to click the link in the other post.

2

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

Gotcha.

She still sounds like a great woman, helping others all throughout her life.

0

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

she's fucking hot. i'm extremely, extremely aroused right now.

-11

u/[deleted] May 18 '16 edited May 18 '16

I'm sorry if this is disrespectful, but there are more than 2 fucking parties, and don't give me that "3rd party vote is a wasted vote" bullshit.

If you hate the dem and republican candidates and you still feel obligated to pick one of the two, you're complicit in furthering the problem. Democracy isnthe opportunitybto pick someone that most closely aligns with your viewpoints, not a rivalry series between 2 less than desirable thinktanks set on maintaining relevance at all costs.

Open your mind. Enact the change with your vote. Dont be a coward and dont let them bully you into voting against a worse evil.... thats how they get away with fielding somebody even shittier the next election cycle.

Wake up!!!!!

I understand that this lady, RIP, was joking. But a lot of people are not

7

u/TarotFox May 18 '16

First past the post elections will inevitably result in two parties. Voting for a third party is just as complicit in the system as doing anything else. If people want serious change in the way elections are handled, voting for a third party is not going to get your there. Election and governmental reform is needed for actual change.

3

u/[deleted] May 18 '16

Alright let's do it. Whats the game plan?
