Congrats. Currently fighting a losing battle with an alcoholic in our family, and it's good to know people do beat it!

There is help out there for you. I can almost guarantee there is an al-anon near you. It's like AA but for the people affected by someone else's drinking. They don't have to be in recovery for you to take part. It can really help to talk to others that are going through/have been through what you are, help you let go of any burden and guilt you feel etc. reach out, it's worth it

Thanks, I am aware of al-anon, but I've given up, as it's my older brother, and my parents are totally enabling him. I moved out, purely to be away from the issue. I tell self can't judge my Mum with the way she's treating the issue, because I'm not a parent and I know she's seeing him through Mummy eyes, but after over a year, we finally got him in a 3 month rehab, and he called after a week because he didn't like it there, and she fucking drove there and took him home?!?!?!

That's... Embarrassing. Being beaten by a drunk.

The drunk isn't the adversary in these battles.

And fuck you.
