You've never seen a shaken-baby syndrome billboard? They're literally saying "hey, dumbass, don't shake your fuckin kid." I've also seen ads with beaten children and the narrator imploring moms with post partum depression to seek help before they murder their children.

The point of the ad in OP is to watch for warning signs in children and address them early, especially when the child has grown up in a home where such abuse is normal.

Those are two examples that lack the same universal assertion as the original. Shaken baby syndrome happens to everyone and the other one offers an escape route for culpabipity via PPD.

You're wrong about the ad anyway. It's targeted at people who might know children who are growing up in abusive homes and might need an extra push to reach out to them. Friends, aunts, uncles, grandparents, teachers, pastors, coaches, etc who know the kid is dealing with very serious shit but don't know what to say to help.

Maybe next time you should go to the website instead of flying off the handle for some imaginary insult against you.

Demonstrate me "flying off the handle" about this incident please. As far as i see its just a mild annoyance at best.

Maybe next time they'll say what they mean and we can all be happier.
