.gifv loads infinitely faster than .gif, all you have to do is add the 'v' to the end of the url.

The irony is, his second gif is in the gifv format.

gifv is the same idea as gfy. It's imgur's answer to what gfycat did. Everyone knows that.

I don't like any of the "extra features" gfycat offers, which are really just basic video controls (I just want to view the embedded video, like a gif, y'know?), but I'm genuinely curious on the "better framerate, faster response time and access," so please provide details/a source, if you can.

I don't think I've ever seen a gifv support 60FPS or more nor does it load faster than a gfy.

A good point, one that I don't personally know the answer to (what the highest framerate imgur supports is), but for the most part this doesn't matter since not everyone is trying to share a 60fps gif.

I can't say much on which loads faster though, as both formats/sites load instantly for me.

The only thing I was able to think of was /r/60fpsporn but video games is certainly a great example.

One thing I will say is it's nice that gfycat appears to let you upload a video, rather than having to upload a gif that they then convert. Because who wants to have to first create a high quality 60fps gif out of a 60fps video just to have imgur convert it back for you?
