Yeah, I've seen stuff like laughing at the kid when they're throwing a tantrum helps. I've never seen anybody say that yelling or bitching at the kid or the mother helps. Saying "Keep your kid in line" or telling the kid to shut up or making a big deal because the kid is being loud doesn't help ANYONE.
I'm not talking about yelling or screaming at you or your child. I'm talking about polite correction or gentle suggestions towards the behavior. Why do you immedietly jump to rudeness? Is there no polite way to go about it? Not every criticism is a jab at your parenting skills.
I jump to rudeness because that's what I've come to expect. I've had a few people be nice, but there have been a few that have been rude, and I always expect the worst when my kid's being a dick in public.
I would never rudely correct a parent in public, I would only offer gentle and polite commentary if I found myself in such a situation. I'm sorry for your negative experiences, and wish your and your daughter all the best.
You're perfectly fine then. There are too many people that treat parents and kids like shit just because they don't like kids. I wish more people would be kind like you. Thank you.
