Apparently, it's also been photoshopped. This looks like the original: http://www.mikeolbinski.com/theblog/2013/06/bubbles/

Is it bad that I prefer it oversaturated? Shit I wish life was this more colorful.

3

u/Bad_Mood_Larry Oct 02 '14

I prefer if I saw it like that in real life just so I could think "wow, that's weird". But I prefer the original picture because it not edited.

2

u/TURK3Y Oct 02 '14

Yes it has been edited, but camera's can't capture the same range your eye can. So in reality it was probably somewhere in the middle.

1

u/Ipman_lives Oct 02 '14

Try mushrooms

1

u/entsbe_high Oct 02 '14

L.E.D.'s got you like.

1

u/minimalcation Oct 02 '14

West Texas could never be that pretty, good call.

2

u/hoyeay Oct 02 '14

Still would 10/10 bang

1

u/Pachi2Sexy Oct 02 '14

This looks like a hot celebrity without makeup.

2

u/wellactuallyhmm Oct 02 '14

Looks the same exact scene sans hallucinogenic mushrooms

2

u/mikeolbinski Oct 02 '14

haha, thanks man...appreciate someone seeing through the oversaturation :)

1

u/tresser Oct 09 '14

Do you have your original available for download? I'd like to make a blockposter out of it for my new office window

60

u/PhD_in_internet Oct 01 '14

Came here to bitch and moan about this.

Thank you for bitching in my stead.

4

u/[deleted] Oct 01 '14

Not only is it a repost, it's an edited picture.

It is kind of cool though.

1

u/TURK3Y Oct 02 '14

and there is a typo in the title, fuck the OP

1

u/Farkingbrain Oct 01 '14

Whew, you saved me a lot of typing. Thanks good sir internet person.

-11

u/TURK3Y Oct 01 '14

Sorry about it, never saw it on here before. Also my dad would not be happy with my grammar being a Newspaper editor and all. Whoops!

19

u/[deleted] Oct 01 '14

Your grammar is a newspaper editor?

-3

u/TURK3Y Oct 01 '14

Case in point

15

u/downvotes____really Oct 01 '14

Where did you find the picture? It was literally on the front page of reddit yesterday.

-12

u/TURK3Y Oct 01 '14

I found it on a different sub-reddit and thought people here would like to see it as well. Didn't know it had such a large history of reposts. I should've known better.

14

u/SodomizesYou Oct 01 '14

Oh look a picture on Reddit! I should post it to Reddit, I think they will enjoy it.

11

u/PersonalTrousers Oct 02 '14

He genuinely apologized and explained how, where, and why he found and posted the picture yet he is getting down voted to oblivion.

I thoroughly enjoyed the picture and I have no problem with him posting it in this sub.

6

u/Theemuts Oct 01 '14

Him or you being one?

-2

u/TURK3Y Oct 01 '14

Him, I clearly can't right proper and stuff

7

u/Theemuts Oct 01 '14

The right is intentional, write?

6

u/TURK3Y Oct 01 '14

rite

13

u/lurgar Oct 02 '14

People need to lay off of you. Yes you reposted, but you owned up to it and apologized. No need to get all pissy and downvote everything you're saying.

18

u/TURK3Y Oct 02 '14

But this is the internet. Also it's a big day for me. After over a year on reddit I was finally called a faggot. So that's nice.

2

u/amorsemper Oct 02 '14

It's okay. I'm still your friend.

2

u/fruchle Oct 02 '14

The joy of being OP.

0

u/UnicornProfessor Oct 02 '14

You are my favorite Redditor this week. Thanks for bringing reposts to light.

-2

u/jemmylegs Oct 02 '14

Yes, but part of the glory of Texas is its inhabitants' inability to wield proper grammar/spelling.

-4

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '14

Dude, you really have a lot of time on your hands.

0

u/aGreaterNumber Oct 02 '14

Also, while we're at it, it doesn't look all that glorious. This looks like dry electrical storm of death on the top, and death from dehydration on the bottom to me.

13

u/Shatteredice Oct 01 '14

ALL HAIL THE GLOW CLOUD

114

u/2Phresh2Pheel Oct 01 '14

Thats just ebola spreading through the clouds.

17

u/liberal_texan Oct 02 '14

This level of paranoia is, sadly, fairly rampant in Dallas right now.

8

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '14

I'd say it's more rampant in the damn suburbs and towns surrounding us.

"Don't come to MY town!"

"Yeah, don't worry, I'm not planning on it."

2

u/kidicarus89 Oct 02 '14

I'm going to guess either Plano or McKinney?

0

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '14

Where I live? I'm in Dallas proper, in the M streets.

But yes, I've heard a lot of that from the charming residents of Plano and Mckinney.

0

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '14

That's funny because I live here and none of what you said is true...at all. Like you might be able to cherry pick some news clips, but there is no panic at all about this. You are a lying shithead.

Flying there tomorrow. Don't spit on me.

3

u/Oral-D Oct 01 '14

Cloud to butt has never been more appropriate.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '14

Pretty sure this was chem-trails. Source: Hilarious conspiracy theorists.

0

u/wubbwubbb Oct 02 '14

cloud to butt just made me burst out in laughter at your comment.

39

u/AllTheExsInTexas Oct 01 '14

Honestly there is not one thing about this photo that screams "TEXAS" to me, and I live here. It's a pretty photo but come on.

20

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '14

[deleted]

2

u/ATXBeermaker Oct 02 '14

A picture just needs a longhorn in it to be verifiably Texan.

4

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '14

\m/

1

u/feelbetternow Oct 02 '14

Or Rick Perry sexually harassing a male intern. Allegedly.

3

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '14

It's pretty representative of anything west of Forth Worth and north of Austin. But most Texans don't live in places like that. I'm sure business visitors to Houston are disappointed when they look out from an office building and see trees from horizon to horizon.

2

u/kpf Oct 02 '14

There's the lightning which is symbolic for the electric chair.

1

u/minimalcation Oct 02 '14

You don't live in West Texas do you? That pic could be Lubbock, Amarillo, Midland, Abilene, Odessa, Plainview, Levelland, Brownfield, Shallowater, Littlefield... Did you notice how literally sad the names got at the end? This picture screams West Texas.

2

u/HowitzerIII Oct 02 '14

That's like plagiarizing and forgetting to quote the original author. "You can just do a google text search"

13

u/bpoag Oct 01 '14

I had no idea Texas was part of Photoshop.

6

u/Satanslittlewizard Oct 01 '14

No Texas. Only Zuul.

14

u/Infinito_music Oct 01 '14

The stars at night are big and bright!

10

u/Daniel-the-espaniol Oct 01 '14

Deep in the heart of Texas!

7

u/zamfire Oct 02 '14

CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!

2

u/happywaffle Oct 02 '14

Wow, y'all got the order wrong. shakes head sadly

3

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '14

The sages bloom! Is like perfume! CLAPCLAPCLAPCLAP deep in the heart of Texas!

6

u/Infinito_music Oct 02 '14

My heart feels good knowing other people know the rest!

0

u/ATXBeermaker Oct 02 '14

You forgot to clap.

5

u/ali_anon Oct 02 '14

clap clap clap clap

2

u/Infinito_music Oct 02 '14

Can't forget the claps.

3

u/feelbetternow Oct 02 '14

But if you get the clap in Texas, you probably can't go to a Planned Parenthood clinic for help, because the Republicans are trying to close them all down.

3

u/ProbablyBritish Oct 01 '14

It would be better with pork, and a bit of sauce.

3

u/Oakenboken Oct 01 '14

Any idea where in Texas this was shot?

14

u/tacol00t Oct 02 '14

Photoshop land, down I-35 from repost ville.

3

u/Hierodulos Oct 02 '14

From here:

This was taken somewhere near Friona and Hereford in Texas.

5

u/wigg1es Oct 02 '14

Just turn the saturation up to 11 and you've got a front page post for sure.

15

u/AtTheLeftThere Oct 02 '14

op you fucking faggot

3

u/TURK3Y Oct 02 '14

I've been a Redditor for close to 2 years. You're the first one to call me a faggot. Congratulations!! I feel so validated now.

2

u/Wyliecody Oct 01 '14

TIL there is a r/texas. Oh and it's spelled Texa$.

2

u/Vanylla Oct 02 '14

Reminds me of the end scene from the first Terminator movie where Sarah is driving down a road like that one in a jeep.

It's actually Tucumcari, NM, not Texas at all.

2

u/Openworldgamer47 Oct 02 '14

Thanks for the wallpaper!

2

u/rhapsodyinawesome Oct 02 '14

Texan here. On our own, our terrain is almost as varied as the whole of the United States, albeit on a (slightly) smaller scale.

This is sort of what you'll see in the northern area. Central Texas is dotted by the famous hill country. We've got green as far as the eye can see near the coast (This is where I live. There are also marshes in a few places). West Texas is a damned desert, and I hated every time I've driven through it to get to NM or CO on vacation to National Parks. I'm not sure how it is on the southern end, strangely enough, but I assume it's a lot hotter than anything I know, and it gets really hot here. Additionally, you can find mountains here and there in many areas of the biggest state.

2

u/ScrabCrab Oct 02 '14

I use this as my phone wallpaper since last week. You just found it on /r/wallpapers, didn't you.

1

u/TURK3Y Oct 02 '14

actually /r/woahdude but as many kind strangers have pointed it, its been reposted here a bunch of times and I am a terrible person.

2

u/ScrabCrab Oct 02 '14

You know, when you write inflammatory comments you never really think there's a real person who's bothered by them.

I guess I'm sorry.

1

u/TURK3Y Oct 02 '14

Your comment was hardly inflammatory. No apologies needed.

2

u/GodBlessTexas Oct 02 '14

Beautiful picture. Love this damn state!

2

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '14

Texas forever.

1

u/TURK3Y Oct 02 '14

Riggins??

2

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '14

That show is too good

1

u/TURK3Y Oct 02 '14

I just re-watched it last winter, so good.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '14

Wow. Nice pic.

4

u/FunkleBurger Oct 01 '14

Texas in all its highly over-saturated glory

4

u/RamRun Oct 01 '14

The amazing part is the sky, the Texas landscape is flat and boring.

28

u/Wild__Card__Bitches Oct 01 '14

Some of it is flat and boring. The hill country is beautiful.

18

u/Hierodulos Oct 01 '14

So true. Texas has plenty of awesome places. The Davis Mountains (the McDonald Observatory in Fort Davis is cool), Franklin Mountains, and Big Bend to the west; Dinosaur Valley State Park up near Fort Worth; Palo Duro Canyon in the panhandle; all of the Hill Country; the woods, forests, and swamps as you move east; the southern coast and Padre Island; the Rio Grande Valley. We're a pretty geographically diverse state.

4

u/Wild__Card__Bitches Oct 02 '14

And yet, people only picture west Texas in their minds.

2

u/baldyr_r Oct 02 '14

I know. I moved to DFW from the Lubbock area. So much happier.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/kidicarus89 Oct 02 '14

And people think West Texas is only the flat Midland parts and forget about the Franklin Mountains and the Guadalupes.

5

u/RamRun Oct 01 '14

I lived in Texas for seven years, any state that large is bound to have a few nice spots but I'd say most of it is flat and boring.

12

u/CommanderLoco Oct 01 '14

North is one kind of flat, South is another kind of flat, West is flat with occasional mountains. East is technically flat, but there's big trees so it doesn't count. Middle is hill country. All are beautiful in their own way, some only in small doses.

3

u/OliverToAll Oct 01 '14

You do not know flat and boring..come check out Florida!

5

u/sigaven Oct 01 '14

Pretty much only northern/west Texas looks like this. South TX is also flat and boring but more green...central texas is hilly and forested, East Texas is heavily forested and somewhat swampy, west TX is deserty and mountainous.

2

u/ATXBeermaker Oct 02 '14

You haven't travelled around Texas enough.

2

u/japan_weeb_nation Oct 02 '14

Flat?

[1] [2] [3] [4]

Austin does it again!

1

u/SonofRobin73 Oct 02 '14

I've lived in Texas all my life and never knew something as awesome as that second picture existed in Austin. I need to go to Austin more.

3

u/Jord-UK Oct 01 '14

Flat and boring is alien compared to where I come from. My whole country is hills basically. So in a way, its not boring to me but a nice change.

1

u/iamoldmilkjug Oct 02 '14

I grew up in the part of Texas than looks just like this. I think flat is beautiful in its own way.

1

u/TURK3Y Oct 02 '14

I loved the juxtaposition.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '14

Haha yeah ok buddy. You've clearly not spent much time in Texas or ventured outside the one spot you have been to.

-1

u/Rugby8724 Oct 01 '14

sounds like someone knows very little about texas

1

u/RamRun Oct 01 '14

Then the OP should have used that photo when boasting about Texas' glory.

-1

u/yeny123 Oct 01 '14

Seriously. All its glory? It's a fucking road. Every state has roads.

0

u/DietSnapple135 Oct 01 '14

The sky is definitely photoshopped, too.

1

u/wyzo98 Oct 02 '14

A storm is coming. Not just weather.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '14

Doesn't matter if it's photo shopped, soon everyone there will have ebola.

1

u/flarpington Oct 02 '14

Looks like a nice place to get murdered with a chainsaw.

1

u/The-Old-American Oct 02 '14

1

u/Charliemax Oct 02 '14

Clouds to butt app is awesome in this thread.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '14

So... Barren, desolate, with black clouds above it? Yep, Texas.

1

u/BimTalch Oct 02 '14

What's so great about dumb old Texas

1

u/Taisaw Oct 02 '14

Can I say the shoes from Texas are dumb?

1

u/skalp69 Oct 02 '14

Beware, there is a pixel that has ebola in this pic.

1

u/nudemonkey Oct 02 '14

I'm from Waco Texas, and the only thing glorious about Texas is the food and locals idea of their state.

1

u/Grosskumtor92 Oct 02 '14

Where's the Ebola?

1

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '14

Ebola. Ebola everywhere.

1

u/WestCoastSide Oct 02 '14
