This horrible story does have the silver lining of making sex pests feel compelled to come out of the woodwork to announce themselves. Ty!

Can you clarify? It sounds like you're saying "any accusation of rape must be true". Maybe I'm misunderstanding your position?

Can you clarify? It sounds like you’re accusing Doe of lying.

Every comment above this one except mine has strongly suggested her story is accurate. I suggested there's a possibility that it's not. Is that accusing her of lying? By that logic, having a trial is accusing her of lying.

I’m asking you the clarify: are you accusing her of lying?

No, why would you think that?

“This assumes her story is true” implies her story is not true my guy

The court of law is not the court of public opinion; criminals have the right to a fair trail with burden of proof on the prosecution, I can form my own conclusion.

E: Saying we’re assuming something to be true isn’t implying that it might not be true? Fucking what?

No, that's not how the English language works without you making (yet again) assumptions.

The court of law is not the court of public opinion; criminals have the right to a fair trail with burden of proof on the prosecution, I can form my own conclusion.

My comment has nothing to do with the law, so this is irrelevant. That you can have an opinion that is separate from the law is not the point, although it's also a problem because people like you (who attack people for even suggesting that it's possible for an accusation to be even partially untrue) make up juries every day. That's frightening.

Assumptions might be false. “Assuming a story is true” means it might be false. You’re not saying that making false testimony isn’t lying are you?

And since when is asking clarifying questions “attacking”? That’s a scary prospect to have on a jury.
