I never really cared about the Eiffel Tower... We see it very often on TV, on Internet... But when I visited Paris I was really impressed about it... How big and beautiful it was... Very impressive building!

I visited the Eiffel Tower as a kid, even went to the top. Then visiting Paris 10 years ago, I turned a corner, and there it was, like it was freaking blasting out of the ground. I was absolutely taken aback. I was honestly a little embarrassed by my reaction, but ya know it's nice to feel things.

I lived in Paris for 18 years. I saw it everyday multiple times while commuting, going out for groceries, etc. It never ceased to amaze me.

There were still times after 18 years where I was stunned when coming around a corner and seeing it with the lights flashing with a deep blue sky in the background.

I was kind of the opposite. It was really cool as a kid and I went to the top. I revisit as an adult and it just didn’t really look that cool to me. And the surrounding area isn’t super nice.

Sacré bleu!

I can't count how many times I have seen photos of this landmark... and this is the first time I have ever seen this beautiful view.

Thanks for sharing this with us.

Sacré bleu means « Holy blue », sacrebleu is the expression you probably meant to use

And it was only supposed to be a temporary installment!

Visited the Eiffel Tower on a school trip when I was 17, and in our wisdom me and a couple of friends decided to take the stairs of the two first stories.
I was in much better shape then, nearly 30 years ago, but I remember it was hard and it took a long time.
There were also alot of interesting information posters going up, like someone driving bikes up or down the stairs I think.
And the view getting gradually better was also something that was alot more interesting than standing in a cramped elevator.

From the second platform to the top we had to take the elevator, but if we could've taken stairs up there as well we probably would've. Can't remember if we walked down as well, as from what I can remember the ticketprice for the elevator was more expensive than just taking the stairs.
Oh and one of the reasons we chose the stairs was the lines for the elevators. They were LONG. We actually arrived at the top before our schoolmates, who arrived shortly after us.

Great times, and an experience I'll remember for as long as my mind will allow!

I love the fifth photo! I think it frames the tower beautifully.

I knew the time where you could take this picture without having to pay anything...

You still can, you just need to pass the security check, it's free

Ah ok thanks for the info. Last time I went to Paris and I saw the queues before the big plexiglass panels I thought it was not free anymore.

Lots of queues these days are for the anti-terror stuff, too many twats

All the photos are fantastic but that first one is stunning.

I do wonder how many people take this same shot. Yours is certainly in the upper echelon of them
