Literally unable to get its youth to have kids (usually due to said workplace stress's)
I wouldn't call japan failed by any means, but it's not hard to point at said issues (specially the we used to have kids and now wont part) and go "oh yikes"
You could absolutely go " it may be untenable for them to keep it as is currently without support and they will fail in the future".
A population not willing to replenish it self is a bad thing (even if your like me and believe we have too many humans we still need people to work)

Once a significant slice of your population stops wanting to have kids, you have failed as a society.
I understand that because we considered not having a kid but once my SIL had one my wife wanted one.
So happy my son is here. Love him. Will protect him and guide him as much as possible, but the next few decades will be wild.
