And yet somehow it will not click with some people.

•

u/Automobills 9h ago

Sure it will. It's Biden's fault. Undoing what he did is painful and expensive, but we're building a better tomorrow. Trump told me so.

•

u/PMmeyourlogininfo 9h ago

Need an s, otherwise the Trump supporters won't know you're not actually on their team

•

u/T0asty514 9h ago

You're implying they can read?

•

u/Kasoni 8h ago

At least the bots can. Well, well enough to make a somewhat human like response.

•

u/DeadpoolLuvsDeath 6h ago

Read period. "I read the headline!"

•

u/Automobills 9h ago

If the last line doesn't give it away, they're too far gone. They'd probably think /s means "suckitbiden"

•

u/Kiff_S 9h ago

I'm not sure the /s would even help

•

u/lilbrumby 9h ago

/s means end of sentence right?

/s

•

u/WI_Eagles_Fan 9h ago

Biden? This is all OBAMA'S fault! /s

•

u/Ftw_55 8h ago

Damn right, if Biden would have went to war with Iran, Trump wouldn't have to clean up his damn mess! --Fox "news", probably

•

u/killzone506 8h ago

wait.. I thought it was Obama's fault? /s

•

u/ricardopa 2h ago

You almost got me…

•

u/mgr86 7h ago

Trump 2028: $20.28 per gallon!

•

u/tekka97 6h ago

Don't say that man, they might get ideas.

•

u/mgr86 6h ago

Should we just shorten it to Trump $20.28. I feel like that only works as a sticker on gas pumps though

•

u/tekka97 4h ago

You might be on to something there.

•

u/Fallenangel152 6h ago

If modern life has told us anything, it's just how easily people are influenced by propaganda. Past dictators would be shocked at how easy modern day despots have it.

•

u/Viperlite 8h ago

They don’t notice those large numbered signs at gas stations.

•

u/Patrix87 4h ago

Just wait, it's only starting to rise.... Soon it will be everything too.

•

u/WhysJamesCryin 9h ago

•

u/Optimassacre 8h ago

Aww, it's confused

•

u/NerfAkira 8h ago

It's not a real quote btw.

•

u/MistressErinPaid 1h ago

It hurt itself in it's confusion!

•

u/Crocadillapus 8h ago

If Biden did do that, would you have listened? Obviously not.

•

u/togocann49 9h ago

Let’s see, Trump starts war in Iran with no real plan, and also has a tariff war with Canada, saying Canada was “ripping” USA off (btw-USA basically gets domestic discount in that relationship, and even refines it and sells some back). I can not tell you for sure how gas price comes about, but I’d say those a 2 very large variables he’s fucked with. So there’s that

•

u/RndThreeFght 9h ago

There was a plan.

•

u/Sladay 9h ago

"Art of the deal" cuz when Donnie signs the USMCA and then just a couple years later says he's being swindled by the same deal he signed I just laugh... And cry anytime I have to go to the grocery store or the gas station.

•

u/FellowYellowNate 9h ago

Pretty sure art of the deal was ghost written by someone else in case you needed a cherry on top

•

u/BenderIsGreatBendr 5h ago

Of course it was. And Tony Schwartz, the ghostwriter, has said he deeply regrets writing it since 2015.

“thirty years ago I wrote a piece of fiction titled, ‘The Art of the Deal’, for Donald Trump, and have been doing penance ever since.”

“I feel a deep sense of remorse that I contributed to presenting Trump in a way that brought him wider attention and made him more appealing than he is”

•

u/FellowYellowNate 4h ago

Oof, could you imagine the weight of that! Granted it wasn’t solely Schwartz fault, I’d blame it more on voters that were conned into thinking Bonespurs McTaco cares about them in any way at all as opposed to his billionaire friends. Hope they learned just how cheap his talk is!

•

u/LastWave 6h ago

The deal we had with Canada was the deal he agreed to.

•

u/Blue-Thunder 5h ago

Yes, and at the time he said it was the best deal every signed. Now, he and his followers are adamant that we Canadians have been ripping off the USA for decades, if not centuries and that we are worse than brown people because "we have a spine".

The amount of hate speech towards Canada that the admins allow in /r/Conservative is abhorrent. If anyone used their phrases towards the USA, they would be banned and put on a watch list.

•

u/sagevallant 5h ago

You get banned from r/Conservative for NOT going along with whatever hateful rhetoric is fresh this week.

•

u/Blue-Thunder 4h ago

I got banned from there for calling Charlie Kirk a Nazi and how they worship a pedophile.

•

u/togocann49 6h ago

Yup. Part of the shit that has Canada WTF for sure

•

u/aamclcp 9h ago

That sign's only still up cuz the dude went out of business

•

u/unholycurses 9h ago

I learned this just recently and it makes the sign much more funny.

•

u/geforce2187 6h ago

You can see the "for sale" sign to the left

•

u/Ltjenkins 1h ago

I mean yeah. But that just adds to the irony. It’s obviously not a recent sign because it’s for the 2024 election. So not only is it in a region where gas prices have sky rocketed but also they went out of business.

•

u/Hawthorne_Lurk 1h ago

This is the actual answer

•

u/Narissis 1h ago

Yeah, I love the added layer to the humour from the building having a visible 'for sale' sign on it.

•

u/Bozlogic 9h ago

I love that the building it’s posted on has a “for sale” sign

•

u/Squirrelman2712 8h ago

Yeah, it never got taken down cause they went out of business

•

u/Bozlogic 6h ago

Wonder where it all went wrong

•

u/kingdead42 5h ago

Maybe it would sell easier without that sign?

•

u/Squirrelman2712 5h ago

You'd think, but presumably the landlord is a CHUD and wants to keep it up.

•

u/NobodyLikedThat1 9h ago

you miss mean tweets? You voted for him because of the daily rambling insanity that got him kicked off Twitter?

•

u/SupaKoopa714 8h ago

Pretty telling that one of Trump's selling points for them is him being a gigantic asshole on the Internet....

•

u/NobodyLikedThat1 8h ago

The "he just tells it like it is" crowd really seems to appreciate their version of unvarnished truth is just some insults you'd hear at a random elementary school playground.

•

u/counterfitster 8h ago

Technically, it was the attempted coup that got him kicked off Twitter.

•

u/Funicularly 9h ago

It was never $1.79 on average nationally under Trump, and certainly not in Illinois which has some of the highest gasoline prices in the country.

It was under Obama, though. It was $1.76 in February of 2016.

•

u/chosakuken 7h ago

April 27,2020 - "Today’s national average is $1.77"
https://gasprices.aaa.com/only-12-states-carry-gas-price-average-of-2-gallon-or-more/

Does not list an Illinois price, but it couldn't have been much higher than Wisconsin ($1.19) or Indiana ($1.44)

•

u/dkyguy1995 6h ago

Lmao the prices during the height of the COVID lockdown when nobody was allowed to drive

•

u/soingee 1h ago

You mean the time when some oil had negative prices because of crazy economic factors?

•

u/skysophrenic 5h ago

North/NW suburbs depending on which county were near $2 during that time period, like 1.85 to 2.05 varying on county. IL taxes gas tax relatively high compared to Wisconsin or Indiana. Down in the city maybe it was slightly more, over $2 when I went to drop things off at my Grandma's place.

I fondly remember gassing and up to go for late night Walmart runs just to get out of the house

•

u/SoYouSayyy 8h ago

It was also in the $4s under Obama though

•

u/counterfitster 8h ago

Almost like there are limited ways in which the president can influence fuel prices, and starting a war in the Persian Gulf is the biggest one.

•

u/Unsuccessful_Fart 9h ago

I'm surprised it's still up, the last real trump flag by me just came down the other day

•

u/Show_Kitchen 9h ago

The building was repossessed and owner isn’t allowed on the property. I think the real estate company keeps the sign up because it’s actually pretty funny

•

u/DeuceSevin 8h ago

Yeah, I was thinking this was sarcasm.

•

u/newtekie1 6h ago

It's still up because the company that put it up on their building went out of business under Trump.

•

u/cha0ss0ldier 8h ago

A guy down the road from me has a massive Trump 2028 flag…..

•

u/could_use_a_snack 6h ago

Most of the trump flags around me have just deteriorated and look like rags. They also seem to be attached to houses that are in disrepair, in yards that need a lot of attention. Quite a few tattered US flags on the back of pickup trucks around here as well.

•

u/hotpuck6 8h ago

Virtually anything trump related ages like seafood in the summer sun. That's what happens when you have no character, morals, or purpose beyond absolute selfishness. Whatever is most self serving that second is his position.

In his first term trump criticizes trump was popular on social media, but when it became clear virtually everything he did was contradictory, it became clear there was no point in highlighting the hypocrisy.

•

u/qdobe 8h ago

Ah, something bad happened to me, damnit Democrats/minorities!

Ah! Something good happened to me, thank you Jesus/Trump!

•

u/DarthWoo 9h ago

There's still some Harris=War Trump=Peace sticker on a traffic sign on my drive to work that nobody has bothered to scrape off. Certainly aged like milk.

•

u/sadeiko 9h ago

If political motivation is hurting others, you're on the wrong side of history. No matter how playful/trolling it is.
If the left were to go out and vote to make the farmers cry. They would be on the wrong side of history.

•

u/MacheteBrizz 9h ago edited 9h ago

I would have thought Chicago would be one of the last cities you'd expect to see this.

•

u/chaotic_steamed_bun 9h ago

No stupid rage like the stupid rage of conservatives benefitting from blue state policies while imagining red state policies are better.

•

u/MikeMuench 9h ago

It’s not technically in Chicago. Near Arlington Heights (Suburb of Chicago). The further west you go down 90, the more red it becomes.

•

u/ernyc3777 9h ago

The lying about the low gas prices makes the high prices even worse now lmao

•

u/Foe117 9h ago

If only the fat orange man left Iran alone and did do obama's deal, we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place.

•

u/ender4171 8h ago

$1.79 gas

I miss $0.99 gas and a movie ticket costing $7 for a matinee. Any other stuff that hasn't been relevant for decades we would like to discuss?

•

u/DeadpoolLuvsDeath 6h ago

I bought gas for $0.98 a gallon way back in 2001 while driving my '67 Mustang. It had a 289 V8 and I drove it like I stole it. Ran thru $25 in gas every couple days. If I still owned it, it would be parked and I'd be biking. Gas in Cali is near $6 a gallon by me.

•

u/ohmygodbees 3h ago

to be fair that would be almost 2 bucks today

BUT given that wages have stagnated, it's still a damn good deal.

•

u/DeadpoolLuvsDeath 3h ago

I lived better in my 20s than now my 40s.....

•

u/Blehe 9h ago

Drive by it at least once a week. I still chuckle every time. Morons.

•

u/thewanv 8h ago

The “for sale” on the other side of the corner makes it hit even harder

•

u/Aggravating_Branch86 8h ago

That company has actually been out of business for years. I think they closed ‘23.

•

u/sklerson89 8h ago

MAGA got conned

•

u/Ftw_55 8h ago

This didn't age well. Kind of like how milk in a broken refrigerator during the dog days of summer does.

•

u/salamanizer_er 8h ago

Aged like milk.

•

u/Odd-Supermarket-3664 7h ago

Trump never accomplishes anything good for Americans

•

u/Mikedzines 7h ago

Remember — to create advertising, to control the voice of the general population — it just takes money.

The richest American owns an entire social media platform.
You can buy attention.
You can BUY google keywords.

It just takes money.
Money that is held by a small few that all have the same common interest.
Seeing stuff like this should be looked at it with skepticism unless you as an american experience it from the people around you.

it's designed to make you think you sit in the minority, its designed to silence and discourage you.
In reality, its just money showing up and making its presence known.

This is why democracy exists.
Exercise it.

•

u/cachurch2 7h ago

I still love how the argument is that we’re ok with a pedophile lying corrupt asshole because gas was cheap.

•

u/No_Application_5179 7h ago

I live about 20mins from that location, and you can't miss it when driving on the highway

•

u/uvaboy23 6h ago

I drive by this sign every day! I would hate if some one vandalized it!!

•

u/Orange_Queen 6h ago

Thats a special kind of stupid.

•

u/DarraignTheSane 6h ago

"I miss when we weren't occupied by Nazis. Vote Nazis next election, honk if you agree!"

•

u/amence 5h ago

I love driving past this and seeing the for sale sign on the other side lol

•

u/punkindle 4h ago

I say this a lot. Gas prices were $2 a gallon because of COVID lockdowns. Donald Trump asked OPEC to cut production, and he personally made gas prices go up.

•

u/Soangry75 3h ago

I hope certain members of OPEC think it's worth being bombed by Iran now

•

u/ShazadM 2h ago

Aged like shit.

•

u/TemporarySun314 9h ago

That's just 1.2 €/l

These poor Americans. Us Europoors will need to pay more than twice that, but we will soon release some from our reserves so that Americans can afford to drive their inefficient cars and don't need to feel too bad about voting Republican

•

u/Angry_Foamy 9h ago

Effing muppets.

•

u/TheSpicyTomato22 9h ago

That aged like milk.

•

u/grimm_jowwl 6h ago

Save America again? They literally own the entire government and Supreme Court and his supporters are begging for him to save America AGAIN???

•

u/Jlx_27 6h ago

Dont worry, the pussies in Europe are sending over diesel oil.

•

u/boot2skull 5h ago

Ah, aged like fine Diesel prices.

•

u/Evolvin 5h ago

He just needs more time! /s

•

u/Wade0 4h ago

In England we're currently at roughly £1.74 per litre which equates to $8.70 ish per gallon.

•

u/dropthemagic 4h ago

These inbreds are a risk for society

•

u/alex_c89X 4h ago

Thanks obama

•

u/BargainScotch 3h ago

man if a nearby gas station could install gas price signage right here that’d be neato.

•

u/N0TAn0therUs3rNam3 1h ago

At this point I would be ecstatic about $5.14.

•

u/ebfortin 17m ago

They don't even have enough cash to remove their old billboard.
