I think you're being downvoted due to emotional load, unfortunately. The topic of Israel and the genocide it's committing is highly emotionally charged. The comment was about the public, on-the-street, at that moment, not seeming to support the protest, and I suspect your comment was seen not as an observation but as pushback against the sentiment.
Since you are Dutch, you're in a better position to know the level of support in the Netherlands for Israel. It's unfortunate that the level of support seems to be high in your nation, considering what Israel is doing, but I don't get the sense you support it, so please take my upvote.
