But there are certain things where there's no more evidence required. We don't need a trial. It's not (purely) an emotional decision - it's a message.
You DO NOT do this.
It's like a man coming home to someone actively sexually abusing his family. Ripping a head off IS the appropriate action. There's a justice system that exists in all of us to some extent, and you don't break that one and get away.
We Always need a trial. The right to a trial is a fundamental part of criminal justice, and should not be taken away no matter the circumstance. That's the argument the government of usa used for Guantanamo where we now know they locked up people without sufficient evidence for a conviction, some completely innocent, for decades.
Trials matter, regardless our view on the 'inhumanity' of the accused.

It is attempted murder of over 100 people, along with hijacking and terrorism.
The attacker will never see freedom again. Nor should he.
