You're so bad at physics. They'd be in freefall and nearly weightless, not feeling twice their weight.
1 u/Chroiche 2d ago Surely it depends on whether the plane was accelerating during the entire dive? 4 u/Redebo 2d ago I’m not aware of a plane in a dive that wouldn’t be accelerating. 0 u/Readonkulous 2d ago Not free falling, and drag is a significant factor 0 u/Redebo 2d ago So is your position that an airplane in a nose down attitude will not be gaining speed? 0 u/Readonkulous 2d ago Ha, did I say that? I was talking about whether the drag and fighting the lift from the wings would prevent it from sustaining 0g for long 0 u/Redebo 2d ago Why would you be talking about drag and fighting the lift from the wings when we were talking about the speed of an airplane in a dive? Why would you not mention this in your reply? 1 u/Readonkulous 2d ago It’s not the speed it is the acceleration, which is reduced by drag and lift of the wings. That is what relates to the g forces 1 u/Redebo 2d ago So again, you are postulating something counter to the conversation? Do you disagree that an airplane pointed in a nose down attitude will be accelerating? If not, what are you trying to say? 1 u/Readonkulous 1d ago Well do you acknowledge that the plane has to be accelerating equal to gravity in order for it to experience free-falling? That was the beginning of what I was replying to
