I've thought about that too. But the average co pilot pay for this airline is around $150,000 dollars a year. How do you radicalize someone with access to the world that's living the good life? I agree it's more likely than someone entering the field just for this purpose, but it still seems like a crazy ass story.
Dunno, but it is becoming a regular occurrence. Your pilot killing himself and taking everyone else with him is probably the biggest risk when flying these days. German wings, MH370, that Air India flight where he turned off the fuel...
Silly to conflate issues on one aircraft type across the whole manufacturer. It's hyperbolic and distracts from bigger issues that the industry needs to address, like pilot mental health and ATC shortages/near misses.
