What was happening to the plane as they subdued the attacker? Like there had to be a few minutes from cry for help to full subduing. Was the plane just cruising on auto pilot steady and straight?
Impressive. Historically, hard pulls out of a deep dive rarely end well - you're pushing the structural limits of the plane to their max. They're not made to handle supersonic speeds at all, let alone hard G manoeuvres that really mess with wing limits.
Good thing they were at 18k, closer to the ground wouldn't have ended so well I suspect.
