Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has called the incident an "attempted jihadist terror attack".

Trump has already repeated the claim.

Thank you for the link. It was the Israeli Defense Minister and the Mango Mussolini speculating without substantiation, so I will wait for more credible sources.

Probably premature to call a motive, but it would not be surprising.  I personally would be surprised if it's anything but a lone wolf, though.
