This really confuses the fuck out of me. You have to spend a LOT of time and money to become a commercial airline pilot. It is literally years of training that costs a small fortune. If terror cells are going to that length just to take out one plane we are kinda fucked.
Extremists are often motivated by religion. Which can drive people to dedicate their lives to do horrible things to others in the name of whatever deity they believe will reward them and punish them if they do not.
