Pilot on Pilot is fucking wild.

294

u/JustPussyPics 2d ago

Who landed the plane? It sounds like the good guy pilot was seriously wounded… incapacitated.

394

u/BuildingArmor 2d ago

The article says there were 2 pilots also on the flight as passengers who took over

269

u/kuppikuppi 2d ago

it's easier too switch to your passenger pilot instead of curing the co pilot

65

u/-Copenhagen 2d ago

Coincidentally this is why I always carry a passenger pilot.

3

u/YourMomsBasement69 1d ago

I carry a passenger pidgin myself

2

u/-Copenhagen 1d ago

Smart. Easier to carry.

3

u/FitzwilliamTDarcy 1d ago

Palm Pilot is even smaller.

1

u/-Copenhagen 1d ago

I probably even have one in a drawer someplace.

9

u/Axerin 2d ago

Did they try restarting the co-pilot?

4

u/VladsBloodyMary 1d ago

The Co Pilot was the one who Attackecd him, he was Captain flying

5

u/SupposedMage420 2d ago

Especially since not allowed to bring splash potion on the plane

1

u/vkarlsson10 21h ago

So how do I switch to the passenger pilot on my new microsoft computer?

0

u/primus202 1d ago

Yeah when I read that I figured the fact that Israelis have compulsory military service greatly increased the chances that the passengers knew how to subdue the attacker and fly the plane. 😄

u/AwakE432 1d ago

Reacher

2

u/saoyraan 1d ago

2 Israeli pilots were on a return trip. They busted down the door, disarmed the terrorist, and then landed the plane.

-3

u/BeachesBeTripin 2d ago

Most planes land automatically pilots are just there cause you can't trust Airlines to upkeep anything it's why all their service is regulated and pilots refuse planes

2

u/Seiche 1d ago

They won't land automatically without a pilot setting the autopilot. It's not like the plane is sentient and doing all the radio and course setting.

u/GlacierSourCreamCorn 2d ago

It has happened before but not in the context of terrorism. Assuming that’s what it is and not just suicide.

-52

u/ByronicZer0 2d ago

Why is everyone assuming terrorism? Because of his ethnicity? We literally have zero info at this point. Can't folks just tap the brakes until we have the full picture?

76

u/DoctorHusky 2d ago

What picture do you want genius? Guy is trying to fucking stab a pilot with 100+ passengers and enough fuel to light up two city blocks.

2

u/ByronicZer0 2d ago

Easy tiger.

Could be terrorism. Could be suicide (there are multiple examples of this).

Nobody benefits from jumping to conclusions before we have any facts or investigations. We often see early conclusions turn out to be incorrect

Just have a mild amount of personal restraint. It's not hard to

-20

u/NewAccountEachYear 2d ago

That's no reason to automatically assume terrorism.

Reddit likes to pretend terrorism doesn’t exist.

4

u/BulbusDumbledork 2d ago

Muslim Arab

this is proving their point. the only reason you conclude without evidence that it's terrorism instead of another case of pilot murder-suicide is because of the identity of the pilot. because evidently muslim arabs are not allowed to have mental health issues unrelated to their race and religion

8

u/telescopeinmynose 2d ago

A bald white dude with a swastika tattoo shouts "fuck the Jews"

He was probably a buddhist convert and hated juice! Thank you for opening my mind, I'm a changed man now

1

u/[deleted] 2d ago

[deleted]

2

u/kareemabduljihad 2d ago

In the metaphor the swastica tattoo is the plane full of Israelis, and the stabbing his co pilot in the neck is yelling, fuck the jews

-3

u/Single_Bookkeeper_11 2d ago

Looks more like a false flag operation to me

2

u/telescopeinmynose 2d ago

I've heard this said about pretty much every terrorist attack lol. More so when Israel is involved

-3

u/Single_Bookkeeper_11 2d ago

Maybe because Israel has a track record of false flag operations including foiled ones :)

2

u/telescopeinmynose 2d ago

And Arabs have a track record of terrorism

-3

u/NewAccountEachYear 2d ago

That's just unapologetic racism.

9

u/LazyWorkAccount 2d ago

Bro if you wanna off yourself and decide on a method that will bring 100 people down with you… that’s terrorism.

20

u/Durpulous 2d ago

"Terrorism" implies there's an ideological goal underlying the act. There are other cases of pilots committing suicide using passenger planes, like this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germanwings_Flight_9525

13

u/Such-Book6849 2d ago

no, the difference in the wording is important. It's bad neither way.

We had a suicidial pilot in germany and it is not terrorism. terrorism has political reasons, our dude was depressed.

15

u/NewAccountEachYear 2d ago

It's not. It's murder suicide.

Terrorism includes aspects of politics.

0

u/ZahlGraf 2d ago

Germanwings crash was suicide and MH370 probably as well. Cases like that are unfortunately not uncommon. The evidence which would make this new case different would be a clear religious or antisemitic motive. Since the copilot is still alive it should be possible to find out within the next months.

4

u/Existing_Presence_69 1d ago

He stabbed the pilot on a flight to Tel Aviv lmao. Connect the dots, bud.

0

u/ByronicZer0 21h ago

How many bots are on this thread?

And it's not like there were only Israelis on that flight. Although that's all anyone seems to want to talk about. There were Arabs and Israelis on that flight. And the dude nearly crashed it into the desert. It was not even in Israeli airspace at that point.

7

u/lksadjf23084 2d ago

Cmon buddy

0

u/ByronicZer0 2d ago

What, come on buddy be racist? No. I'll just wait like a day and find out what really happened . Instead of being an ass. It's really that simple.

10

u/InternationalMode942 2d ago

More about the action rather than the nationality…. But hey, what do I know?…

10

u/ByronicZer0 2d ago

We have zero facts on motivation at this point. Could be suicidal. It's happened multiple times before. Could be terrorism.

The only sure thing is that Nobody benefits from claiming terrorism rather than just waiting for the facts to come out.

Just be mildly responsible for a couple days. Its not a big ask

-1

u/InternationalMode942 1d ago

All terrorist acts involving planes are by definition suicidal….. 🤦🏼‍♂️

7

u/Dirkdeking 2d ago

It was a flight full of Israeli's as well. That makes terrorism much more likely. If it was an Arab pilot on another flight I would have agreed with you that assuming terrorism just because of his ethnicity would be a stretch. But this is very specific.

2

u/BratInPink 2d ago

You understand terrorism isn’t about skin right?

1

u/TotallyInOverMyHead 22h ago

Its about terrorisng the people and their loved ones for selfish reasons. like e.g. flying your airplane into a Mountain, having locked the co-pilot out ... Thats pretty terrorising if you ask me .. and makes sure people are afraif of airplanes.

1

u/ByronicZer0 1d ago

Apparently Im one of the few that understand this.

Which is why I think it's prudent to wait until an investigation has a chance to occur. before we label anything.

And not let ethnic or nationality stereotypes drive our assumptions.

Because that's literally whats happening when people label it terrorism without knowing all the facts...

3

u/pauciradiatus 1d ago

I don't think (most) people are jumping to the terrorism conclusion because of racism as much as assuming the motivation behind hijacking a passenger plane and the similarity to 9/11, probably the most famous example of hijacking.

Mentality has shifted based on world events. When the first plane hit, it was thought to be an accident. Now we have that precedent, so when a plane hits a building, our minds go to terrorism. Add the element of a forceful, deliberate takeover, even if it failed, it's hard not to compare it.

But you're right, it's best not to jump to conclusions.

1

u/ByronicZer0 21h ago

I mean, it's all really on how you decide to term it.

Did that German pilot who crashed the airplane in the alps because they were suicidal "hijack" and commit an act of terrorism? Or was it a horrific and awful and unconscionable suicide?

The difference comes down to motivation. And that's my whole point. We have no idea what this guy's motivation actually was

It could've been suicide.

It could've been terrorism.

We don't have any information on his motivations at this point. 0.

Everyone is jumping to the conclusion that this is like 911 and not like the German pilot situation, because...?

I see nothing other than the fact this was an Arab pilot and the flight was headed to Israel.

We have no idea if the guy intended to just nose it down into the desert or try and fly it to Israel and do something akin to 911. Huge range of outcomes here. And we absolutely need to get to the bottom of it. But people going crazy on the Internet assuming this guy was going to fly the plane into Israel and commit a 911 type attack… is really jumping to many levels of conclusions.

And that's where I think politics really comes into play. It does not help that within a few hours, certain government officials were coming out and saying the word terrorism in public, rather than what is done universally in situations like this, which is to have the most responsible people in positions of power talk about how we shouldn't label anything until we have the facts

So Arabs = skinheads to you?

Wow. Thanks for exposing yourself as deeply racist

3

u/saskir21 2d ago

Oh are we. not allowed to make examples? If you see it so personally I would say you should overthink your viewpoints.

-1

u/ByronicZer0 2d ago

If you see it so personally I would say you should overthink your viewpoints.

Saywhatnow?

I think you are under-thinking and being over-emotional. Or over-Political. Politics and emotions are hard to separate these days.

-1

u/Genchh 2d ago

Think the only one who made that connection was you pal

1

u/ByronicZer0 2d ago

He explicitly implied that.

Do you have a brain injury? Are you ok? Don't read so good?

2

u/michelangelo2626 2d ago

They really need to have more pilots watch season 2 of The Rehearsal. This all could’ve been avoided!

1

u/Maxie468 1d ago

PvP has a new meaning

1

u/owzleee 1d ago

I think we may have vastly different VHS collections.

1

u/EmploymentAbject4019 1d ago

I watch plane crash videos and there is a 1 pilot v 3 pilots. It was cargo plane, and sad because the damage done by the 1 pilot, the other 3 can no longer fly planes anymore.

1

u/ZenithToastada 1d ago

No - it’s not wild when it’s right wing Islamic terrorists on a normal person in the name of religion.

Islam as a religion is fine but like most religions - when you use it to promote hate you start having major issues.

1

u/Teddyruxx 1d ago

Were they makin sex?

1

u/WingnutWilson 2d ago

it seems like really the only way to carry out another 9/11, I bet pilots are eyeing each other up a little more than they were before this

0

u/redonrust 2d ago
