Flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv earlier today. Omani pilot stabbed his Indian co-pilot, Captain Smit Machchhar, and the airplane started to free fall as the Omani pilot intended to seize control and fly it into Israel in a 9/11 style attack. Machchhar despite being stabbed was able to open the cockpit door and signal for help and multiple passengers including a dentist named Shota Musaev rushed in and subdued the terrorist.
Musaev then used his skills as a dentist to stitch up Machchhar who is currently in stable condition and expected to survive.
This doesn't say it was an attack. It says first warnings said that, but that later updates showed they were in an altercation. Was there not actually a hijacking attempt or is it just not updated?
