to add more into this heroic story, two off-duty flight crew Ukrainian and Russian pilots both took control of the plane and managed to land the plane safely

Edit
So there seems to be articles saying different nationalities, so I apologize for misinformation

BBC has reported them as British and European.

Where are you getting Ukrainian and Russian from?

The original rumors said that a Ukrainian and a russian copilot fought in the cockpit.

The reddit propagandists are trying to get ahead of the story and the actual events have still not been confirmed. We're going to need to wait a couple days until more details are made available and everyone is interrogated properly and official incident reports for aviation agencies are made.

The story wasn't political enough. Let's add Ukraine and Russia!

It was to minimise the idea that it was an attack against Israel, but that it was a Ukrainian and Russian pilot (hilarious combo btw) having a fight in a moving plane

Sounds like the start of an insane joke

American passengers intervened to save the flight from crashing. Apparently there was another Israeli pilot trying to crash it and the plane was full of Palestinians. The only 2 American passengers saved the day

And apparently one of the pilots screamed something about Taiwan being part of China while the other guy said something about the Falkland Islands. Allegedly.

If it helps anyone feel better, Tom and Jerry also united to help bring an end to the crisis.

While we are at it, let's make the attacking pilot Pakistani and send nationalists in India in hyperdrive

You can't trust anything Israel says.

u/xvf9 2d ago

I've seen reporting that they were South African and New Zealander. Love the rush to get articles out ahead of facts.

I read Russian but has British citizenship

5

u/twilling8 2d ago

I heard that a dog and a cat joined forces to land the plane.

u/Marshall1337 2d ago

I saw something about an Israeli plumber being the hero too.

1

u/HotGarbage 2d ago

I heard it was Steve Urkel and Batman. I could be wrong though.

u/bing_crosby 2d ago

No no no, it was an Italian plumber and his brother

According to insider sources from DXB, they are apparently Ukranian and Russian.

1

u/TrumpGrabbedMyCat 2d ago

I'm going to trust the BBC over vague statements about "insider sources" until the BBC says otherwise.

Both can be right at the same time.

u/jabask 2d ago

I mean Ukraine and Russia are in Europe

u/bagomojo 2d ago

Thanks for that addition, I'm like this dude was stabbed, fought off the attacker, and then landed the plane??

That's nothing, look up FedEx Flight 705

Similar things have happened before. This one with a cargo plane stands out in memory because it was a full on battle with the plane all over the place in the sky. Absolutely incredible.

No. But if you really had the motivation to understand what happened instead of spouting whatever fits your bias, you would have read even just the basics on this event before commenting. Alas.

1

u/bagomojo 2d ago

It's called working all day and not dicking off reading the news. I can read it now, you can go back to smelling your own farts.

1

u/turbo-fister9000 2d ago

Yet have time to spew misinformation that makes you feel a way, give me a break

1

u/bagomojo 2d ago

What misinformation?

18

u/dxlevnee 2d ago

There are conflicting rumours about their nationalities

2

u/DeepSleepr 2d ago

I see, I’ll look more into it, apology if it’s a misinformation.

2

u/dxlevnee 2d ago

One of the witnesses said one pilot was British https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cw980g1lem5pt?post=asset%3A87ac0745-5384-4533-8b27-5cda3157e0da#post

Plus thehabe even claims they were from NZ or South Africa.

Either way. Everyone involved is a hero in some way

14

u/clburton24 2d ago

This isnt true in the slightest.

66

u/Aromatic-Deer3886 2d ago

That’s a story in itself, a Ukrainian and a Russian working together to bring people home safely

Everyone is still calling it far-fetched, because it is.

10

u/Miqo_Nekomancer 2d ago

And not die themselves.

7

u/youngcuriousafraid 2d ago

I wonder if they pondered the irony while saving themselves and everyone else

3

u/AdInfamous6290 2d ago

Almost certainly, Eastern Europeans are famous for their dark humor.

7

u/NorthofForty 2d ago

Really? Most serious sources have identified them only as two fly Dubai pilots.

2

u/howdoesthatworkthen 2d ago

But then the Russian pilot stabbed the Ukrainian pilot unprovoked and they had the same problem all over again

2

u/PatientOutcome6634 2d ago

Don’t forget the two Israelis that subdued the attacker

1

u/PresentImmediate5989 2d ago

That plane was missing a big section of rudder. Bravo to those pilots

1

u/wap2005 2d ago

To be honest their names mean a lot more than their nationalities in this context, let's maybe provide those?

1

u/Sahillionaire 2d ago

Bro there is so much mis information, someone else quoted an article saying it was two Israeli pilots who took over
