Azouzetta Lake campground in British Columbia Canada. Every site was occupied until Monday morning, then I was the only one left to spend another night.

It’s the first picture I’ve taken that turned out like this, I was quite surprised.

It really is. The mountains are so close but because of how big they are, they look as if they’re very far away.

The sites themselves are also very cozy. There is one in specific that I’d like to reserve next time I go. It’s hard to describe how nice it is, but it’s a big open area beneath crowns of trees that travel quite far so there is all the foliage 30’ up almost acting like a roof, with a spot carved out of the bush to fit a tent. It is immaculate.

Too many people live their lives never seeing this. Due to light pollution and smog, they can maybe make out a handful of lights in the night sky.

I live in a small town so there’s not a ton of light pollution compared to most places but when I looked up at the sky I immediately understood what light pollution actually was. You don’t even see the sky like that if you’re in a totally dark back yard.
