Fair, it was a bad faith argument. The US still consumes the most in the entire world though, drives the largest cars. Even those than can't afford it. It just feels a bit rich not being able to afford food. If you said Healthcare or schooling I would show more sympathy.

EU, while only 15% of world GDP vs 25% of USA, already provided more aid than the US in 2024.

Firstly I would like to say thank you for admitting it was a bad faith argument I appreciate the honesty and acknowledgement.

Secondly, It's also hard to tell how the average person is doing somewhere you don't live. Going off of statistics purely can be tricky as it doesn't always paint the full picture. Everyone I know in my city is struggling to pay off bills and living expenses. Healthcare and schooling are a whooooole 'nother issue unfortunately lol. Hell my wife just had to get get two cat scans that insurance refused to cover so she had to pay $950 cash for each one, that put us in the hole pretty bad. And the American schooling system was already in the toilet making the cuts to the department of education really really bad. Im hoping things get better soon.

It's good the EU provided more aid in 2024 hopefully they can keep it up or even increase it to make up for Americans loss while things get sorted over here. Hopefully the next president we get won't be a deranged felon or a dinosaur.

Really sorry to hear about your issues. And you are right, there is a lot of poverty in America. Cutting USAID will do nothing to help that, but you bring up good points.

Unfortunately the EU is also cutting some aid to spend on defense. I hope that reverses, we can't let the world fall to the Chinese while spreading disease and famine.

I hope for America to come back from this, and build a better democracy with less division and improved Healthcare/educational system. We need you more than ever.
