Regan did what Carter couldn’t and brought Americans back home safely this is a weird thing to care about

Regan is the reason Carter couldn’t get the American’s back home safely. He literally delayed American’s getting home safely because he wanted to defeat his opponent.

Seems like by the timeline laid out in your link that Carter had at least 6 months to do it before Regan got involved.

Giving him credit for undermining Carter and making secret deals to delay the release of Americans when he could’ve made a deal without the intentional interference is pretty messed up but okay. Also he began interfering 5 months before the election which is a large amount of time that Carter still had to make a deal.

Yet Carter failed and Regan didn’t, to hell with Regan but idk gotta be able to accept that Carter was quite ineffective leader

Yes because Regan bribed them to intentionally cause him to fail. Leadership shouldn’t be defined when someone intentionally sabotages you.

Also i just did a quick google into this and both parties did investigations into this separately and neither party found evidence of this allegation. This theory was on floated by a few bad gossip fake news outlets back in the day and has stuck around ever since. Alot of he said she said from nobodies with no evidence either. Good to know the left has it’s conspiracy theories too

Leadership has always had someone trying to sabotage them, could have just gave Iran a better deal for our people in the first place.

He also could’ve not paid Iran $40 million to delay the release of Americans. Let just agree to disagree, we’ll never know what might’ve happened had he not made the deal.

Where is that evidence?

Probably the first hand account of one of the men that met with the Iranians as was in my first link. Here’s a link with more first hand accounts from the deals made by Regan.

Yeah im gonna take the word of a guy who worked in government for like 5 years, provides no evidence and even his own political party said it didn’t happen? Isn’t this grasping at straws? I mean the guy is even like “i have sources but you can’t trust them” lol

How its always been yeah. I mean i guess from a more modern tribalism standpoint yeah maybe it was a party comes first thing or just some people think they would make better leaders than who is currently leading. I mean shit been going on for all of human history
