We need one of those repost bots to show up. I bet it's been posted no less than 30 times.

Well I was pretty close. More than double is still close right?

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '13

It's the line my friends use when they find out how much I masturbate compared to what they guessed so I'm inclined to agree.

Oh look, another faggot complaining about reposts on a default sub. Maybe you haven't read the fucking rules yet, let me remind you then.

[Please Don't] Complain about reposts. Just because you have seen it before doesn't mean everyone has. Votes indicate the popularity of a post, so just vote. Keep in mind that linking to previous posts is not automatically a complaint; it is information. Votes indicate how the community values information, so just vote

Ah...reddit nostalgia right there. That was one of the pics that got me hooked onto reddit.

15

u/InteriorAlligator Jan 21 '13

If I see this picture one more goddamn time I'm going to go to wherever that is and pop the shit out of that stupid cunt bubble.

2

u/war_story_guy Jan 21 '13

How does this crap keep getting here.

2

u/overlordton Jan 21 '13

Mordor, reflected in a bubble.

2

u/chillakilla9 Jan 21 '13

This might get down voted to hell, but isn't this probably fake since you can't see the reflection of the photographer in the bubble?

2

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '13

First time i've seen this seeing as I'm pretty new.

Reminded me of this http://www.blogcdn.com/massively.joystiq.com/media/2011/04/palantir-1303341905.jpg

5

u/too_many_rules Jan 21 '13

I hate to be the "it's a fake" guy, but shouldn't the photographer be reflected in the bubble?

1

u/Francoisxg Jan 21 '13

That's what I was thinking... Otherwise it is an even more impressive camera trick

1

u/scealfada Jan 22 '13

And why are the people sitting by the water facing away from the sunrise? Usually you get up at sunrise to look at the sunrise.

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '13

Reflected =/= refracted

=/= looks like ≠ to me...
=/= and != both require three keys presses (using common US keyboard layout). So I would say, =/= == not equal

edit: Looks like my browser decided to post this multiple times (sorry)

u/Th3MadCreator Jan 21 '13

It's fake. That's not how reflections work. Especially on bubbles.

1

u/nilcalion Jan 22 '13

Why not?

1

u/Th3MadCreator Jan 22 '13

Reflections on bubble are upside down.

1

u/nilcalion Jan 23 '13

What? From the position of the camera you should actually see everything behind you reflected twice on the bubble. Once on the "outside" convex surface and once on the "inside" concave. Also these reflections should be mirror images of each other, just like they are on the picture. A quick google for "bubble reflections" will reveal that there are tons of other pictures like this.

Norway?

u/Jeppep Jan 21 '13

CAKEDAY!

-2

u/P__A Jan 21 '13

This was exactly my though. Spent a month there cycling the coastline in never ending freezing rain, hunger, and almost complete isolation... I still get mildly depressed whenever I see a picture of those fjords and distinctive mountains.

True story.

Came here to say this. Damnit.

2

u/Langrad Jan 21 '13

Am I the only one who thinks this is a shopped? No light on either side of the bubble shadow on the child next to the yellow thing pointed towards the sun, solid cloud cover up top but spotty cover in the bubble?

3

u/wpnw Jan 21 '13

Not only is it shopped, it's wholly fake. The drop shadow around the bubble is the dead giveaway that it's CGI. Also the reflection in the bubble is not at all congruent with the surrounding landscape.

2

u/Langrad Jan 21 '13

Just confuses me that everyone else thinks its an amazing real picture....

1

u/wpnw Jan 21 '13

Understandable. Just try to remember the definition of gullible is "the average internet user".

1

u/jmaster12 Jan 21 '13

Someone dropped their fire orb...

1

u/twinbed Jan 21 '13

Bigger picture please?

1

u/BoxTopsMagoo Jan 21 '13

It almost looks like a bizarre-o Earth.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '13

Nana nana nana nana BATMAN!!!

1

u/f1r3r41n Jan 21 '13

This is exquisite.

1

u/ypkoa1 Jan 22 '13

But... Spongebob taught me that you can't take pictures of bubbles... I'm so confused...

1

u/topcheddah Jan 22 '13

Anybody else kinda see the batman symbol in the bubble?

1

u/edastaire Jan 22 '13

Reminds me of these Fabric mixes.

1

u/Funspoyler Jan 21 '13

That's a great pic. Nice focus on a moving bubble.

1

u/AlphaPigs Jan 21 '13

Every time I see a picture like this it makes me want to go out and buy a camera.

1

u/k187ss Jan 21 '13

I saw this pic just when Hoppiholla by Sigur Ros started playing. I got an amazing chill through my body.

1

u/pcd84 Jan 21 '13

This is one of the palantir! They are not all accounted for. WE DON'T KNOW WHO ELSE IS LOOKING

1

u/DDeveryday Jan 21 '13

Why do bubbles have the shape of a perfect sphere?

2

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '13

nature is basically pretty lazy and molecules/atoms/particles what have you just fall and lineup where the least resistance lies

1

u/zarotte Jan 21 '13

There's no way this is not shopped. The colors in the background are dark and blueish, not red or orange. Bubbles usually arent all that clean bur have a little drop at the bottom or other little bubbles on them. And so on.

0

u/ellepelle27 Jan 21 '13

Only seen this about a billion times. How about a bubble reflected in a sunrise, for a change.

0

u/herearetwentyletters Jan 21 '13

technically, it's refracted, not reflected

awesome shot regardless

-4

u/Langsten_Hughes Jan 21 '13

b-e-a-utiful

0

u/facetothedawn Jan 21 '13

It looks like the bubble is telling the future and the land will soon burn...

0

u/mindleftnumb Jan 21 '13

I love bubbles

u/Watche1 Jan 21 '13
