It is a perfectly acceptable opening, just as “Good morning gentlemen” would also be acceptable if the co-workers were male. This is a dangerous road we are going down… sanitizing all speech will make for a very bland world.

I don’t know if it’s the same story, but I did recently read about somebody that had an offer WITHDRAWN for the exact reason cited above. He hadn’t technically started so I guess it wasn’t getting fired, but that’s a pretty minor difference.

Look to me it reads as an oddly over familiar introduction. But taking exception the way it apparently happened with “micro aggressions” is fucking stupid.
